Amari Boulevard Hotel, Sukhumvit Road, Soi 05
The staff at AB is very friendly and efficient. The breakfast is outstanding. The rooms in Siam Wing are due for renovation, but all in all this is a very good place to stay in Bangkok, and we hope to be back.

Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Ratchaprarop Road, Pratunam
Really good hotell, very big and pretty good location. The food was exellent. You can do everything on the hotel, play golf pool gym spa everything..... About 900 people in the staff so it was hard to get to know them...But over all it's a great hotell, highly recommend!!!!

Baiyoke Suite Hotel, Pratunam
This is a very ordinary hotel, rooms are very old fashioned, but 2 rooms, the name suggest it’s a suite hotel. The reception area looks glossy but there is no lobby with sofas or even some chairs to sit. All the staff members are very unfriendly, you are always greeted with a grumpy face, not caring at all about the guest. Breakfast has a lot of variety but no quality and if the tray is finished, that is never replenished at all. However the sky restaurant where the breakfast is served has a good view of Bangkok, since this is on the top floor. The hotel is actually situated on the busy shopping area too much nasty and crowded, but you can take a small walk or take tuk-tuk to the bigger shopping malls which are all nearby.

Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa, Riverside, Charoennakorn Road
This was our 2nd visit to this hotel. Our previous visit was 18 months ago and based on the exceptional experience then, we decided to select this hotel again on our visit to Bangkok. This time, the hotel was exceptionally busy and looked like it was fully booked. This impacted our experience at breakfast where we had to wait for up to 10 minutes to be seated every morning during our stay. Also this resulted in people crowding over the various food stations at breakfast, which made breakfast a rather frenetic and stressful experience. The food however was of an exceptional standard and plentiful. Management was always visible during breakfast times and regularly interacted with guests. Due to the number of guests, service by staff was poor (probably due to the Sonkrang festival)and we had to constantly flag down a waiter. The furnishings in the hotel was not as plush as it was 18 months ago (probably due to wear and tear)and detracted from the 5 star experience. Our room was exceptionally clean, but there was a damp smell after using the shower. Due to this experience, I would probably use another hotel next time I visit Bangkok. I would still recommmend the hotel for the resort feel, but it needs to be refurbished.

We had a wonderful experience at The Old Phuket. Spent 3 nights in the Pool Access room. The room is clean, hotel staff were very friendly and the resort is very close to Karon Beach. I would recommend everyone to stay here.

We had a great stay at Deevana. The hotel grounds are beautiful. We really enjoyed cocktails by the pool. The breakfast was great too. Our room was simple, but comfortable - like a beach house.

Manathai Resort, Surin Beach
I sayed 3 nights at Manathai in Phuket. We were upgraded to a suit which was just off one of the 2 pools. We had a sitting room and bedroom and very small bath. The room was attractive but had too many decorative objects taking space that a traveler needs for suitcase, toiletries, etc. Also there was no task lighting, just very dim lamps in the bedroom and sitting room. I needed a flashllight to find things in my suitcase after dark. All the rooms are different, so that problem may not be encountered in other rooms. The breakfast was excellent, the ocean beach club was convenient and well staffed and the public areas were nicely furnished in a traditional thai manner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The happy hour complimentary snacks were excellent. I would stay there again but would ask to look at a couple of rooms before deciding.

Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach
I was thoroughly disappointed by my experience at Akwa guesthouse. The guesthouse did not accept credit cards to pay the remaining balance of our bill which meant having to go off and find a cashpoint. When we finally got to our room (when taken on a 10 minute walk down the road and down a dark back alley opposite a kareoke bar) we had to climb four flights of stairs to get to our room. The room was clean and pleasantly decorated although on closer inspection our main patio door did not lock. When we told the owner we were unhappy to sleep there he offered to mend the door or begrudgingly give us a refund. We chose a refund as it was 9pm by this time only to find that he had tried to short change us and charge us a 20% booking fee. I would attempt to stay here again.

Imperial Samui Hotel, Chaweng Noi Beach
Lovely hotel on a nice part of the Charweng Noi beach. Nice to be a little bit away from the hustle of Charweng Beack We travelled with our two childrem and thus booked one of the two bedroom villas which was great. Enough small cheaper restaurants to the south of the resort which were great. Beach and pool were great Hotel restaurants were OK and I would recommend the food at Tara. Overall 7.5 out of 10.

The Samudra Retreat Samui, Choeng Mon Beach
5 star in all respects, the best place we stayed in Samui.A Beautiful Resort! We stayed in the Superior Pavillion for 3 nights and loved it so much me returned to stay in the Lotus Pool Villa which was more expensive but worth it for the private pool, extra space and view! Restaurant is very good with an excellent buffet breakfast all you could want and dinner too, view was fantastic. the Staff were genuine and friendly, attentive service. Gorgeous landscaped gardens and pools. A nice beach not overly crowded for swimming just around the corner and just outside the resort too. Courtesy shuttle to Chewang for shopping was handy. Stay here and you wont be disappointed.

Rocky`s Boutique Resort, Lamai Beach
From arriving in the beautiful setting of Rocky s Resort we received excellent service. The staff are more than willing to help with any needs you require. From our private fishing boat trip to each delicious meal in the restaurant. Prices are reasonable for the quality and you get what you pay for! Not recommended if travelling with elderly or disabled as the resort is set on a slope to the beach, plenty of steps to get to your room or garden pool etc. Room detail is amazing from entering with fresh orchids and flower displays. Has the unique furnishings from local businesses. Overall Highly recommended!

Baan Fah Resort, Maenam Beach
A tiny and comfortable hotel. I guess there are about 5-7 rooms, not more. Not crowded at all. And one has more freedom there. The stuff is very friendly. We stayed in a honeymoon suit as the beachfront ones were unavailable, but anyway we had a nice time. The room is very spaceous, even is we had an additional bed for the third person. There are beach chairs on the balcony, which we found very useful. It s only a pity, the sun was on the balcony only in the morning. The only drawback about the room is that the lavatory flush wasn t working properly from time to time. The beach is very neaty and cleaned every morning. There are always free beach chairs. The breakfast is not reach though, don t expect a buffet with a wide variety of dishes. But you can go to a nearby restaurant, it s not a problem. What we liked most was the location. There are good restorants near on the beach and the hotel is sutuated in the centre of the village, so a supermarket, a pharmacy, restourants are very handy. At the same time in the hotel and on the beach it s peaceful and quiet. We don t regret staying there.

Cliff Ao Nang Resort, Ao Nang Center
Wonderful resort, it gives you a spa-feeling. Wonderful room, with a beatiful outdoor bathroom. Our son had his birthday when we were at Cliff Ao Nang Resort, and the staff made a beatiful cake for him. We can highly recommend this hotell. It take?s about 10-15 minutes to go to the beach and that is not a problem. The hotel is an oas! Kristina, Stefan, Filip march 2008

Emerald Garden Resort, Ao Nang, Nopparattara Bay
We had a very pleasant stay at Emerald Gardens Resort in Feb 2008. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were very clean, equipped with stocked fridge, mosquito net and we had a very comfortable stay here. The pool area was fairly small and all sunbeds monopolised by people reserving them with towels early in the morning but we chose to spend our time down on the beach which is about a ten minute walk away. I would recommend Emerald Garden Resort, we had a very pleasant stay here.
