Ayothaya
Hotel- Ayutthaya
This hotel has had its day. Towels were threadbare and had big
holes, no toilet paper supplied and rooms were dark and small.
Way overpriced for what is on offer.
Maneechan Resort & Sport Club- Chantaburi
Only resort for Thai people. It was the first time in Thailand
we did not feel welcome. Not really unfriendly but very distanced
and You will be served last whatever Your postion in the queue
might have been. The resort itself is a nice place to stay.
As European be aware to be one of only some - hardly English
spoken. You should have at least a very good language guide
at hand. But it might be worth all that to feel origninal Thai
life all around. We enjoyed our time though very much getting
by trying to speak Thai and talking with our arms and hands.
Very calm, clean and a nice pool. Maybe a lot of children around
but we have been there at Songkran - Thai New Year - might not
be significant.
Chakungrao River Hotel- Kamphaengphet
Great View of the river, good selection of rooms at every price
bracket. Staff were very helpful, the Spa facility was fantastic,
staffed by very experienced personnel. Breakfast had cerals,
eggs all others were Thai orientated. Would stay again without
a doubt
Lampang Wiengthong Hotel- Lampang
Hotel is okay, not many hotels to choose from in lampang. Score
7 on sclae of 10. Parking a problem/swimmingpool never in use
and honestly, the hotel need an make-over!
Imperial Tara Mae Hong Son Hotel- Mae Hong Son
Probally the best hotel in the area with good service throughout
my stay. A few miles from town centre but ideal for driving
tourists with good parking.
Riverhouse Resort- Mae Hong Son, Mae Sariang
With no comparable level of hotel in the area, there s no competition.
Accordingly it s a bit expensive for what it is. There is no
elevator - could be a problem for the less agile guest staying
on the third floor. Staff all friendly and keen to help.
Baan Krating Pai Resort- Mae Hong Son, Pai
this is a nice bungalow place. it was not very busy in november
so you feel kind of lonely when you are there. they hardly speak
english, so it is not very easy to communicate. the pool (situated
just beside the river, very nice!) was an asset to the place
since there is not so much action going on in pai. call them
in advance to get a ride from the bus station (no taxis available!)
or the little airport.
Sida Resort- Nakhon Nayok
I booked a New Deluxe Room. Actually quite old fashioned. I
wonder about the standard of not new Deluxe . Restaurant so-so
and breakfast with very limited choice and food/eggs cold. Not
warmly recommended, but may be the choice of hotels in the area
is not large.
Country Lake- Nakhon Sawan
very nice semi-detached bungalows with flagstone floors. a shower
curtain would be nice, the beds are very hard with hollows.
cosy restaurant and the dinner is excellent.
Gateway Hotel- Phayao
The rooms were very average for the price, musty smell and they
could not even provide a baby bed for the 2,000baht we paid
for the room. ABF was OK. Very little english spoken and the
staff had difficulty finding the location of the hotel on a
map of the town. I will not stay here again.
Petchvarin Resort- Phetchaburi, Thayang
really lovely hotel! clean, peaceful, all staff very nice. Thai
restaurant delicious and good service. we enjoied this resort
and probably return soon. just a problem : the map to go. It
s not clear and difficult to find.
Amarin Lagoon Hotel- Phitsanulok
This is a group tour hotel for all practical purposes. Buses
roll up between 4PM and 7PM and tourists get off. The rooms
are big but certainly need some renovation ... my room had satellite
TV but the other room we had did not. Basically I do not believe
the General Manager inspects his / her hotel because the staff
was lacking in hospitality skills, the gym attendants were watching
TV, the back of house area that one sees going down the first
floor corridor was dirty. The dinner and breakfast buffet had
a lot of food but not a lot to eat. If you re looking for an
individual experience this is not the place. Keep checking for
other hotels in Phitsanulok. I choose it because of the Amarin
name in Bangkok ... this hotel did not exceed expectations.
The GM has to get out and see his staff and hotel. But the bright
spot was the Front Office Manager who was courtious and had
just moved over from another hotel in town.
Nakorn Phrae Tower Hotel- Phrae
A good hotel, very good value and good service. Plumbing needs
a bit of work but overall we were very happy and we will certainly
return.
Tawa Ravadee Resort Hotel- Prachinburi
Hotel is located near industiral park 304, therefore it is a
business hotel full of meetings and conventions. Guests are
mostly Thais and some Farang workers who have some tasks at
the large factories nearby. Hotel room clearly needs renovation,
the standard room is very simple and worn out. Superior rooms
were fully booked and therefore I can not comment on them.
Saipan Resort- Saraburi
The resort was a pleasant place to stay. Staff were very nice.Very
little English spoken though and the worst part was the poor
map and lack of directions.
Sukhothai Resort Hotel- Sukhothai
Location was poor for sightseeing. Hotel was run down and we
were the only guests it appeared. The restaurants was good and
the grounds were pleasant. The pool was very dirty and you couldn
t swim in it. The staff were pleasant but the taxi to the historical
park was very over priced - but they offered no alternative!
Viang Tak Riverside Hotel- Tak
The Hotel, my room and the staff were perfect, the view of the
river and mountains spectacular. Just one small compalint, no
English TV Channels, one French and the rest Thai. But I would
certainly return for a longer visit.
Banpu Resort & Spa- Trat, Koh Pu Peninsula
Banpur Resort and Spa is a lovely hotel on the mainland in Trat.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean. There were alot of
mosquitos due to the fact that the hotel is positioned over
water so be prepared with your repellant. Also be aware that
if you fly into Trat there is no public/meter taxis available
from the airport which is owned by Bangkok Air. They will try
and charge you 1600 baht for a one way transfer to the Hotel!!!!
The better option is to get them to give you a lift to the ferry
wharf 200 baht per person and then get a taxi from there abour
450 baht. The resort is about 35 minutes drive from the wharf.
