Yaang Come Village - Changklan Road
Yaang Come Village is located right in the middle of the city. 2 minutes walk from the Night Bazaar, lots of food around the area. You will not believe what you see when you enter Yaang Come Village. Its beautiful, and full of green and flowers that make you wonder how they did this. There is no iron or board in the hotel, you need to send to laundry (i did not like this even though its cheap, i wanted it for simple ironing). And you must tell the front desk everything you need. Like spraying your room for mosquitos at night, etc. But its simply beautiful.

Pornping Tower - Charoenprathet Road
First impressions of the Porn Ping were very good. Flash lobby, very clean entrance, professional service etc. However once in the room it was noticable that this hotel is old and really the time has come for a renovation.(I am not sure if this is planned or not!) Apart from that the Porn Ping offers excellent views of Chiang Mai, excellent location (walk everywhere) and good bars (hotshots)etc. I would stay here again.

Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai - Downtown
Very good location. Walking distance to the nightmarket. Shuttle service stops at the hotel for trips to the Shopping mall. Rooms are very big and spacious. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended for those wanting to stay within the night market area. Lifts are very very slow. It is not enough to cater for the whole building. Be prepared for long waits.

Belle Villa Resort - Hangdong
A nice resort. A little deserted though and far from Chiang Mai to the wrong side. Very friendly staff. The internet connection was not very good. We went on to Belle Villa in Pai and we can really recommend that resort. Very nice cottages and green grass with swings for kids and nice view. The breakfast and coffee was good.

Rachamankha Chiangmai - Muang
Great boutique hotel, a little hard to find down a small backstreet but worth the effort. Staff were great, food was great (but at the pricey end by Chiangmai standards)and we had a very memorable 5 days stay. Would stay there again if we visit Chiangmai again.

Manathai Village Chiang Mai - Muang
Lovely hotel, 10 minute walk to the night bazaar and 10 minute walk to Tha Phae Gate. Located on quiet back street. Good breakfast included. Nicely decorated rooms and large bathroom - the shower was the only negative - could not get an even water temperature, was either too hot or too cold! Very pleasant staff. Only 29 rooms so fairly small hotel, nice pool though only 7 pool side lounges. Fairly good breakfast included.

The Chedi Chiang Mai - Muang
The Chedi is PERFECT. It offers a good change from the likes of traditional architecture style of resorts like Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental. Chedi is located in the city centre and it is very convenient to visit all the tourists sights. The service and the attention to details at the Chedi are AMAZING...second to none. The Spa Massage@ the Chedi is the best we have had...it was much better than the massage we had at the Four Seasons. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Suriwongse Hotel, near Night Bazaar - Chang Klan
Hotel is older, modest, but clean. It is in a very convenient location for shopping, eating, and playing. Staff is helpful and kind. Breakfast buffet is great. I would recommend if you re looking for something clean and safe but on a budget.

Tamarind Village - near Night Bazaar, Downtown
Tamarind Village is located right in the middle of the ancient city. 5 minutes walk from the Night Bazaar, lots of food around the area. You will not believe what you see when you enter Tamarind Village. Its beautiful, and full of green, flowers and the big Tamarind tree in the middle of the garden. The rooms are very nice with a beautifull decoration and everything you need. The breakfast buffet is excelent and the food is from a very good quality. A la carte menus are the same than in a 3 star Michelin restaurant from quality and presentation. Next time I stay again on this place.

Royal Lanna Hotel - near Night Bazarr
Royal Lanna Chiang Mai. Good location near night bazaar. Clean roome, good breakfast buffet. My only complaint is the rooms are a little sparse and ready for a renovation IMO. I have stayed here 2 times and the service is consistently good. Well worth the 1150 Bt I paid per night.

Northern Heritage Resort & Spa - Sankamphaeng
We have stayed here many thimes before, only because of the golf course next door - Chiang Mai/Lampun - one of the best, but the hotel is getting worse - in fact, every time we had a shower or used the toilet, the smell of drains would have knocked you out!! The bed is particularly hard. It is supposed to be undergoing an upgrade but I m sure the prices will go up accordingly - we ll wait and see. I think next time, we will just travel to the golf and stay elsewhere.
