Baan
Tai Hotel, Chang Klan
This an awesome hotel for the personality, the kind service, and the
value for the money. It can t be beat. Last year the bathroom was
pretty old and this time the bathrooms were renovated. We will stay
here again next week. |

The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable, the hot water was
broken when we arrived but got fixed immediately on reporting it.
The breakfast in the mornings were great and very efficiently served.
The pool was lovely and clean and the garden was beautiful. The front
desk staff were absolutely so friendly and helpful and just lovely
people. Our whole stay in Chiang Mai was a good one and I would recommend
the hotel to anyone who wants to have some peace and quiet just outside
the bussling city, but also only 10 minutes away on a hired motorbike. |

This was my second stay at Baan Tai and, as the first time, I enjoyed
it very much. I ve stayed at other hotels in Chiang Mai and they were
the traditional Tourist type hotels. The Baan Tai is built in the
traditional Lanna style and is very beautiful. Because of the floors
being of teak wood you have to leave your shoes off while going to
and coming from your room, and that was OK for me. The staff is always
very friendly and helpful. It is a quiet hotel with a small pool and
away from the hectic, busy city streets. From the hotel getting around
by Tuk Tuk, Taxi or motorbike is fairly easy. If you want more access
to traditional tourist activity this hotel is not for you, but, if
you want to enjoy a nice respet after a day of walking around Chiang
Mai or out trekking this is the hotel for you. There is a restaurant
at the hotel but I have never seen it very busy except for the morning
breakfast, depending on the number of guest staying at the hotel.
I would recommend the hotel for anyone who is looking for a good clean
hotel with a bargain price. |

A rather basic hotel, I know the cost was low, but in room no chair,
no beside table, nowhere in the bathroom to place your shaving-bag,
not towle hangers and no hot water at the basin. A taxi into Chaingmai
one way is costing 60 to 8o bhat. We found a lovely hotel in Chaingmai
where the room only is costing 1000 Bhat incuding breakfast . 3 sisters
hotel. |

First time up to Chaing Mai and decided to look for a smaller, more
traditional place a bit out of town. really glad we did because Baan
Tai is a delight - teak flooring, wooden 2-storey buildings, a bit
basic but all you needed and great value at the price. Good breakfast
and lovely grounds and small pool. Distance from town didn t bother
us because we hired a newish car for 2 days at less than ?20 a day
so could be independent. Arranged by Od in reception - great character.
New Aussie owner and smart Indonesian wife keen to make good place
even better. Only suggestion - how about a kettle in each room? Gave
us one on request. Loved it. |

We have booked for 5 nights but stayed only one night because we were
travelled with a child under two years and The hotel was far from
center for us. But for two adults it s a great and traditional place, very
quiet. Staffs were very pleased with us and understood our problem.
So we recommand it for people who want to be in peaceful place! |

My wife and I stayed at the Baan Tai during October 2007 for a 5 day
and a 3 day period. We found it comfortable with a very friendly atmosphere
and attentive staff. Nice small pool The hotel is a traditional Thai
building very beautiful and all teak construction - not 5 star but
most certainly value for money and handy to the old City Centre (5mins/50baht
by tuk tuk) Would definitely stay again. Chas - New Zealand |

Excellent stay and enjoyable trip to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Hotel
built with teak wood looks authetic with nice decoration. The only
unpleasant experience was the hotel room is not properly sound-proof.
I could hear people checking in/out middle of the night with heavy
thumbling walking steps and wheeling their luggages around at the
upper floor.( I was staying at ground floor). It was quite annoyed
and disturbing.Overall, i m happy with the service provided and friendly
receptionists:)) |
