Golden
Pine Resort & Spa
Overall it was a good experience. The hotel is far from Ching Rai and is
isolated so you have to stay at the hotel or take expensive taxis/tours.
Pros Rooms were nice, comportable, clean. Aircon, nice bathrooms, comfortble
beds, in room safe, free drinking water, two patios, quiet. Nice Thai style.
The grounds were very nice, lots of flowers and green, property well maintained
and very beautiful.Lots of fountains, bridges, fruit trees. Staff was good,
minimal english but enogh to get by. They were friendly, helpful, good service.
Lots of things to do at the hotel - restaraunt with good live music at night,
a nice fill service spa (but expensive), nice big pool, cooking classes
and sightseeing tours (also expensive). Cons Both the breakfast and evening
buffets were limited, western food only and monotonous. It would be good
to add some Thai food to the offering or some variety. The staff was helpful
but not very knowledgeable about local sightseeing. Food service at the
fool was difficult. I had to go into the restaraunt to ask. The nice pool
bar was never staffed. The jacuzzi was broken. Overall, a nice Thai experince
in a comfortable, relaxed, beautiful setting with good service and a lot
of amenities.

Du
Doi Suay Resort
Very nice quit natural resort with beautiful mountain views. But you are
in the middle of nowhere. I was the only guest. It is hard to find someone
at the resort (and in this region) who speaks English but everybody did
the best to help me. You definitely need a car or a motorbike. The next
village is 7 km away. Clean rooms with Thai-TV.

Dusit
Island Resort
A most enjoyable stay in a beautifully located resort hotel. The accommodation
and facilities were everything one would expect from a Dusit hotel, the
staff consistently friendly and helpful. This was my second visit and I
will certainly return whenever my travels take me to Chiang Rai

Laluna
Hotel & Resort
The property was lovely with a great swimming pool.Quite a lovely refuge
from downtown Chiang Rai. The wireless was free, a real plus. The buffet
breakfast was very good with a large assortment of food including several
Thai dishes. The beds were very hard, but we still slept very well. The
towels and toilet paper were in short supply. Would definitely return to
hotel. Great massage place next to the entrance to the hotel for 100 baht
per hour.

Little
Duck Hotel
The hotel was quite run-down, water leaking out from the tiles while you
bath. Rooms are not very clean and the hotel staffs do not understand english.
The hotel is located quite far from town center, thus it is not very convenient.
However, the breakfast was okay.

Phowadol
Resort & Spa, Chiangrai
Nice Hotel, good service. The staff was distinctively polite and friendly.
We felt very comfortable with everybody there. Breakfast was rather disappointing,
but that was the only negative thing to mention. Since the hotel is quite
new, as of Feb 2008 it was practically empty. On the one hand, this was
quite good, because we had all the attention of the extremely friendly hotel
staff for ourselves, on the other hand the atmosphere would have certainly
been nicer if there were more people around. All in all, we do recommend
this hotel.

Rimkok
Resort Hotel

S.B.
Hotel
Basic with cheap furnitures and low toilet doors (I m ard 6ft and I knocked
on my head twice..Ouuch!), located deep inside the road and no complimentary
breakfast. If you are looking for a budget hotel within this range do cost
in at least another 160 baht (two way) Tuk-Tuk fees to Chiangrai town. Overall
OK.

Starbright
Hotel
Very friendly&nice staff. THB 1650.- (incl.ABF for 2) quite pricy but
good location, rooms newly furnished, comfortable and spotless clean. But
extra THB 500.- for extra-bed (matress on floor) WITHOUT any breakfast not
reasonable when promoted children up to 12 years in same room free of charge

Suanthip
Vana Resort
Perfect 3 days, the staff treated us a family, but its big enough to disapear
if you want that too, beautiful grounds and good sensible priced food. our
room was large (upstairs) with huge comfy bed and very clean. We did the
ethnic hilltribe package and had a great day visiting real hill tribes/trekking
we took candies for the remote schools. our guides were all fab but particularly
Apple our hostess who is now a real friend. I would recommend this to everyone
without reservation.

Probably best value for money. Beautiful location, stunning rooms and facilities
with views overloooking the river. Great pool and lounging area. Quiet and

Wang
Thong Hotel Maesai
Now we were on the move 7 weeks in SO Asia and have spent the night accordingly
at many hotels. We cannot recommend the Wang Thong Hotel. The rooms wore
out, the breakfast poor and the staff al little cooperatively. Again we
will not spend the night at this hotel any more.

Wiang Inn Hotel
Excellent downtown location. Good breakfast for Eastern and Western tastes.
Superior room could do with modernisation, though was sufficient. Water
in swimming pool not as clean as it should be.
