Excellent size room and very clean. Staff very pleasant. More of a modern style hotel. My only negative comment, it is a little further from the airport than I had expected. There is free pool, fitness center and sauna also there is internet center, spa salon but for the many. The rooms are clean and light. The staff is enjoyable. There is restorant with good choice meal. We were disappointed only with changed Thai style in decorate. It became more european not Thai. Catherine and Patrick 2008-04-23 until 2008-04-26 The Old Phuket Hotel, Karon Beach Stayed in a private spa room for 3 nights and loved it, quiet location, some restaurants and shops within walking distance, Karon beach wonderful, Karon village good for shopping and nightlife. It s only a short walk to the beach, and you can rend a deckchair or sit in the sand. Room was great, modern, with an open-air shower. The staff at reception don t speak such good english but they still go out of their way to work things out. So all in all, a great place, far from the hustle and bustle, nice colonial feel to it. We have stayed here 3 times before and were very pleased but this time we felt that it was the last time. From our poolaccess room there was a connected door to another room where we could see our nabour walking in the room. Also heard everyting what they said. The cleaning isn?t good anymore. Our daughter had lots of insects in their poolview room. We had a rat behind the tv every night. The breakfast wasn?t the same anymore.Staff have lost their thai hospitality.It was very noisy and can not reach the points it had only a year ago. The rooms are a bit old. They need paint and some furniture replacements. Not a spotless clean room but we had a great time there. The beach is private and gorgeous. The best service was the nightly shuttle to Patong Beach that was offered complimentary. Patong Beach is almost a 30 minute drive from the Chedi. => Read Reviews

The restaurant had delicious food at reasonable prices, and even the drinks and minibar were reasonable. A very exclusive boutique feeling to the place, at a good value. Claude POPPE 2008-02-25 until 2008-03-08 Bophut Resort & Spa, Bophut Beach Pool not too crowded nor noisy. Beach is easily accessible for good swimming. Sand is not white and bit grainy. Beach boys take good care of sunbathers. The Thai restaurant has an extensive choice of Thai classics and they ll prepare the dishes the way the diner wants. Even though the hotel was full, the beach, the pool and the restaurants never gave the impression to be crowded. Staff service and staff attentiveness everywhere in the hotel was just incredibly good and pleasant. Staff goes out of their way to please you. We have been vacationing in Thailand for the last ten years now, and this resort experience was the best. Like everywhere in Thailand, the secret to get warm service is that the customer has to be friendly, chatty and smiling to the staff. They pay you more than back for this. Hannah louise cox 2008-03-26 until 2008-03-30 Akwa Guesthouse, Chaweng Beach I was thoroughly disappointed by my experience at Akwa guesthouse. The guesthouse did not accept credit cards to pay the remaining balance of our bill which meant having to go off and find a cashpoint. When we finally got to our room (when taken on a 10 minute walk down the road and down a dark back alley opposite a kareoke bar) we had to climb four flights of stairs to get to our room. The room was clean and pleasantly decorated although on closer inspection our main patio door did not lock. When we told the owner we were unhappy to sleep there he offered to mend the door or begrudgingly give us a refund. We chose a refund as it was 9pm by this time only to find that he had tried to short change us and charge us a 20% booking fee. I would attempt to stay here again. => Read Reviews

Nice to be a little bit away from the hustle of Charweng Beack We travelled with our two childrem and thus booked one of the two bedroom villas which was great. Enough small cheaper restaurants to the south of the resort which were great. Beach and pool were great Hotel restaurants were OK and I would recommend the food at Tara. Restaurant is very good with an excellent buffet breakfast all you could want and dinner too,view was fantastic. the Staff were genuine and friendly, attentive service. Gorgeous landscaped gardens and pools. A nice beach not overly crowded for swimming just around the corner and just outside the resort too. Courtesy shuttle to Chewang for shopping was handy. The staff are more than willing to help with any needs you require. From our private fishing boat trip to each delicious meal in the restaurant. Prices are reasonable for the quality and you get what you pay for! Not recommended if travelling with elderly or disabled as the resort is set on a slope to the beach, plenty of steps to get to your room or garden pool etc. Room detail is amazing from entering with fresh orchids and flower displays. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were very clean, equipped with stocked fridge, mosquito net and we had a very comfortable stay here. The pool area was fairly small and all sunbeds monopolised by people reserving them with towels early in the morning but we chose to spend our time down on the beach which is about a ten minute walk away. It is truly a beautiful location with a nice beach & a great pool. The view from our villa (1125) was excellent & the jacquzzi on the deck was a relaxing touch. The food & the service were both good. The concerns about the walkway (& the floating jetty) to Ao Nang are overblown - it takes about 10 minutes of effort on the walkway! We would certainly return & we highly recommend Centara to others!
