Casa
Papaya, Cha Am
The staff are friendly and helpful. The resort was very unique. But
overall, it fell below expectations. For the price we were paying
(3000 baht per night), we expected a little more. There was a problem
getting into the place because of the road leading in got flooded
from rain. If it weren t for some kind samaritans in a car who offered
to take us in, we would have been stuck. There was a lot of construction
going on next door, which made it VERY NOISY. Not a seaside holiday
we hoped for. Our request for a free upgrade to a better room was
turned down (we d have to pay) even though there were a few available.
The construction area also emitted waste which made the beach smelly
at certain times of the day. The beach was rather dirty, but this
is no fault of the resort. More likely irresponsible visitors along
the whole stretch of beach. The rooms are pretty. Love the hammock.
But the TV channels were limited to local programmes and fashion TV
(the only English language one). Their Casa Papaya music were some
MP3s you could listen to from the TV, but you can t select your songs.
And they were not even the original artistes. Breakfast was a disappointment.
Very basic, with eggs, mini sausages, porridge, cereal and pancakes.
Coffee and juice. No bacon (you d have to order and pay for that).
We only got a special breakfast on our last morning which was a ham
and cheese omelette. A very uniquely designed place, nice staff but
not worth the money. I could ve gone to a much better resort with
a nicer beach for 3000 baht a night. I doubt I ll be visiting again. |
