Doodi Guesthouse, Hua Hin Town
It s an extremely cheap gueshouse so it might be ok if you want to
save money. But there are a few things you should keep in mind. First
of all after spending four days overthere we still have no idea if
the staff is friendly or not, because literally nobody speaks English.
Even yes and no are extremely complicated words for the staff. Another
disadvantage is the location. It s situated near the main road which
means it s sometimes difficult to talk with each other while sitting
on the balcony, due to the traffic. So don t expect to hear the birds
sing. One cannot have breakfast overthere and we suggest future guests
to have dinner somewhere else....Last but not least: the staff seems
to trust their guests and the locals because during the night the
main entrance (door)and fridge are both open :-) |

We had requested doublebed but when we arrived we were given twinbed
room. When asked about it they said all rooms the same ! At their
homepage is clearly written that they have double rooms, also that
private balcony goes with every room, this was also a lie, we got
one window with almost no view at all. The AC was very noisy, could
use some service. Once I was in shower water was cut off suddenly.
We called reception and they said they needed do this cause of some
work. We were almost the only guests so it could not have been to
hard to inform us. Also was both shower and toilet leaking water out
on the floor so bathroom was flooded most of the time. Working there
were about 4-5 young girls who spent most of their time, reading magazines,
doing make-up, or even sleeping! Breakfast consisted of one toast
each, a small piece of ham, sausage and tea/coffee. If you care the
slightest about your lodging, avoid this place! |

Thank you so much, we enjoyed our stay and the lovely smiling helpful
staff although it was difficult for them to understand us and we them,
but that was all part of the fun. The rooms were very clean and could
do with an update but for the price it was excellant value for money.
There are just two things the guesthouse could do is also have a sign
in English as we went up and down the road a few times as it was only
written in Thai but we got there, the second is that when guest is
shown up to their rooms they should be told how things work in the
room i.e. aircon for example. All in all it was a lovely place and
the staff were very good. |
