Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hu, Hua Hin
Extremely beautiful hotel, with excellent facilities and great rooms
(we had the superior and they were spacious enough for a 3 p family).
Three cons though; Hua Hin is a terrible place, the beach is not very
inviting; and the staff is cold and distant compared with other hotels
we have stayed in in Thailand. |

A beatuful, large hotel on the beach located right at the center of
the town. We were upgraded for a jounior suite room upon arrival for
booking a superior room which was a pleasant surprise. Hotel staff
are very friendly and helpful and a large percentage of them can understand
basic English for communication needs. We enjoyed walking in town
for dining and shopping which we could find everything in about 20-min
walking radious. |

My first visit to Hua Hin and extremely impresed with the Sofitel.
Location could not have been better - quiet and peaceful, marvelous
gardens, swiming pools, excellent accommodation and extremely helpful
staff. Our ground floor rooms had gardens facing the sea. We enjoyed
the peaceful surroundings, the kids enjoyed horse riding and the pools.
The advantage of the resort is that whilst serene and peaceful inside,
one can walk out and immediately reach all the restaurants, shopping
and a short walk down to the seafood restuarants. Thoroughly enjoyed
out stay, would recommend this resort to one and all and will certainly
be returning to the Sofitel and Hua Hin. |

This is the greatest hotel experience we ve ever had - we really enjoyed
every minute at Sofitel HuaHin! Excellent and kind service from everyone
in the staff, great room with seaview, huge breakfast with omelette
corner, delicious pastrys, sushi, pancakes etc... Life could not be
better - the three poolareas where clean and comfortable. We liked
to cool of in the Elephant Bar every now and then, aircondition, cigars
and nice canape's to go with the drink :-) We can surely recommend
this resort to everyone going to HuaHin, we would love to go back!

This is to inform you about the following: We spend from August 14th
till 21st. wonderfull days in the Sofitel Hua Hin resort. The food
and drinks were excellent and the service from all personell from
the reception, restaurant and pool was kindly, very proffessional
and from a high level. We lived in SEASIA during 1994 and 1998 as
expatriates and so we have quite some good and bad experience in this
region. We found that the Sofitel Hua Hin has some comparison with
the Rasa Saying hotel in Penang, altough for European people Thailand
is now more attractive because of the low prices and currency vs the
Euro. During my expatriate years I normally stayed in the Grand Hyatt
Erawan in Bangkok, which I found one of the best Hotel in the SE region.
During our recent vacation we went from Hua Hin to the Ambassador
Hotel in Bangkok. Reason for staying there was because our friends
received discounts as they are working as a KLM employee. I reserved
a room by telephone and a suite for a family (max 2 adults and 1 child)
was available for 3.800 thb per day. I of course understand the difference
in service and room level as result of the price. The experience we
had in the ambassador Hotel was terrible. The room was not dirty,
old and smelly. The floor in the bathroom was wet and very dirty.
The floor in the room was not clean. The airco. was possibly 15 years
old.etc. etc. On top of this what we found a more serious matter is
the attitude of the personel during breakfast, (man in black) they
were just standing there and had a total wrong attitude. Every time
someone asked them, they reacted irritated and unpleasent. The reception
staff was friendly and more service oriented, as we experience in
general in Thailand. If it was my hotel I moved the persons (again
man in black, not the ladies) to the kitchen for leaning the dishes,
so they will not been spotted by the hotelguests. One big advantage
staying in a Hotel as the Ambassador is that coming home is much more
fun. Staying longer in Hua Hin was of course the preference of all
familymembers. |

I have been to this hotel a number of times and have always had excellent
service. Staff are very attentive and make every effort to assist
in making my stay enjoyable. The beachfront location and hotel grounds
and pools give plenty of variety for how to spend your day lazing
around. Alternatively the hotel will arrnage golf at the good local
courses. |
