River Kwai Resort & Spa, Kwai Yai
A delightful place to stay. Well maintained grounds in a great setting.
Rooms spacial and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant
fare excellent. Well located for Kachanaburi, Hellfire Pass and Three
Pagoda Pass. No western TV channels which is the only negative. |

The grounds are beautiful but the house we stayed in was mediocre
at best. The house was over run with geckos and the house was not
worth the price paid. The swimming pool was ok but my husband was
almost bitten by a snake while beside the pool. |

Beautiful vast gardens with fully-matured trees. Great for nature
lovers and those seeking quiet corners for themselves. The room (#203
River View, double bed) is par for the course with good view of the
river and privacy, even with curtains open, but the water faucets,
both bath and wash basin, need fixing. That said, my only complaint
would be the very limited, simple, Thai-food-dominated menu. I booked
a table for dinner, but regretted the decision and should have gone
outside for dinner (too bad for captive visitors who do not have ready
access to transportation, as the hotel is about 4 kms to the main
road and 20 kms from city). Breakfast (inclusive) was, again, par
for the course - no complaint. All in all, a nice hotel for a weekend
retreat for local Thais and a good respite for overseas tourists in
a tropical jungle setting. |

When I was there, the weather in Kanchanaburi was very dry although
it was just January, and I had surveyed around other resorts, and found
that their gardens were dry and poorly-take cared. But at Comsaed, their
huge flower gardens were always fresh and damp with water. The decorations
and their landscape were outstanding. It was perfectly maintained. The
food quality was even more impressive. Most importantly, the staff attitudes, which
was my main concern was very very positive. |

A truely beutifull hotel, the rooms were nicly laid out, the gardens
are stunning and the staff were very freindly but discreet. Oh the
food wasn t half good too... this resort is out of town so it is a
great location away from the tourist hussle this is one of those locations
should be at the top of everyone list. |

We (mother, father and 11-year-old daughter) had a very pleasant stay
at Comsaed over New Year. The surroundings are very beautiful and
unspoilt, and we could be as active or as lazy as we chose. There
are plenty of activities available at the resort, some rather unusual
such as riding on an ox cart! They certainly ought to get some better
tennis rackets (they could only find us 2!) and balls. We had no problem
arranging transport out of the resort when we wanted it. The rooms
were comfortable but not luxurious - and the bathroom plumbing leaves
something to be desired. We enjoyed the food (lots of it produced
on site) - you don t have to eat in the main building as there are
one or two cheaper options around the grounds. The staff need to be
taught how to make a decent cup of tea (you have to boil the water!).
All the staff were friendly and helpful: as we are Thai speakers it
did not matter that no one on the staff seems to speak fluent English,
but this could easily affect others satisfaction. Overall I would
definitely recommend Comsaed to anyone who wants to escape city life
for a few days, and we would love to go back again. |

The room was comfortable but a little dated. We found the sheets and
towels a dirty colour due to age. Not a lot of the employees could
speak english but besides that they were all very helpfull and friendly.
The only down fall is that they tend to have blackouts late in the
afternoons. We hired a push bike at a small cost and went for a ride
around the lovely gardens of the resort, but check the bike brakes
are working before you start. |
