Nirvana Resort Koh Chang - Bang Bao Bay
Nirvana is a small hotel that advertises peace and serenity. That is exactly what they bring. The large hotel rooms are very tastefully decorated with warm natural materials. Everything (airco, hot water, DVD etc) worked fine. The grounds of the hotel and its surrounding are beautiful. Two nice pools. As there are only 11 rooms in the hotel there is a quiet and cosy atmosphere at the pool. The restaurant serves excellent dishes in, again, a beautiful environment. Hotel personel is very friendly and competent. Nirvana is a delicious place to relax and to enjoy nature. Don t expect any nightlife or loud entertainment. You will be able to finish your book! We enjoyed the jungle hike, went out with a boat to nice beaches at small islands. Despite that it is sandwiched in between the sea at two sides, Nirvana has no possibility to swim in the sea directly from the hotel. Nirvana is a delicious environment if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time far from the maddening crowd We booked the special tarrif in the low season period. We had really a lot of value for our money. Hope to go back.

We stayed in a Bungalow, and we will not do that again. The towel was dirty and the sheets where so old that it was hole in them. The bungalow hade so big hole that we had lizards in the bathroom. The location is however where good.

AANA Resort & Spa - Klong Prao Beach
The hotel is situated in the most beautiful surroundings. At night the lighting adds to the jungle-type setting. We stayed in a top view villa. The small outdoor tub was cold and less useful, but the view was great. The room itself had a really large window overlooking the lagoon. Great view from the bed! The bathroom was OK, but the thin door did not leave much room for privacy. The restaurant served more than just decent meals, and the breakfast was as expected. We tried the small gym, which is ok for average users. The private beach a litte down the lagoon is wonderful and no crowded at all, with great service, affordable massage and a nice restaurant and beach bar. The staff was friendly and very helpfull. All in all we had a great stay at ANAA. Can recommend it.

Barali Beach Resort - Klong Prao Beach
I would not recommend this hotel. The grounds are nice, but not worth the price. The rooms are OK, but again not worth the price. The staff were horribly inattentive. The bathroom was dirty, and the hot water didn t work for the first three days of my stay, despite my complaints to the front desk. I asked to speak to a manager who never got back to me. Overall I would not stay here again or recommend anyone stay here.

Klong Prao Resort - Klong Prao Beach
A fantastic resort. We stayed in the vip one seaview deluxe rooms. The rooms were fairly big though we only had a partial view of the sea. As has been mentioned before, the breakfast buffet is excellent. The restaurant on the beach was also very good and inexpensive. We ate there every night of our trip. There is a minimart on site beside the restaurant and although the prices are more than a local 7/11 they were still cheap. The pool was fairly large and had a nice rock garden theme to it. The ocean and beach in front of the resort was excellent. Shallow, warm and sandy. Klong Prao beach has beautiful sunsets. The staff, from the management on down, were all nice and friendly. Really easy to joke around with them. I will definately be back.

Koh Chang Resort & Spa - Klong Prao Beach
We have been in Thailand twice, people are very kindly and nice to children. But at this hotel (Koh Chang Resort & Spa) the staff cant speek english, even a bigger problem is that they dont want to understand. This place is not representive for Thailand, the bed and room are dirty, lot of bed bugs, dont look under the bed. The toilet is under all critic, stop in toilet and shower. Twice the aircondition stop working. For example, the guest before us leave a chewinggum on the table, the staff did not take this away for two weeks, and if you eat something in the room you have to go back to the restaurang with the dishes, if not dirty dishes stays in your room. Tourist from example Europe are not in prioritet compare to chines people who comes avery weekend ( a lot of chines and they reserve the hole restaurang), in the morning you have to go up latest around 08.00 if you want to have a chance to eat some breakfast, - dont go up, the breakfast is not good, you better sleep. Watch out for Russian people, they eat everything in the morning and take your sunbed at the beach even if you booked a bed, they dont care and the staff in the hotel doesnt understand what you trying to explain. If you want a sunbed, you have to reserve around 07.00. About the breakfast, we had to pay 125baht for our kid 8 years old just to eat a cold panncake, he dont drink juice or anything else becourse there is nothing left at the table. The only good thing with the hotel is when you leave it!!!!!! One thing that is good is the beach, that is really good and other hotels in this area is nice, at least nice and understand english. A tip, if you dont care living dirty and pay a lot of money for the room, you can eat cheap at paradise hotel, they are frindy and nice to children. One thing is ectremly clear, we dont coming back to this hotel even if they pay us money! Fam Bengtsson, Sweden.

Koh Chang Kacha Resort and Spa - White Sand Beach
As other guests below already described, this resort is a real paradise and very affordable considering that we only paid 1650 per night for a superior bungalow. If you book through res24/Sawadee, make sure you bring a printed paper copy of your Sawadee voucher, because for some strange reasons at this resort, passport and telling them the voucher number is not enough. We had to go an internet shop and spent 80 baht and 20 minutes to access our email and print the forms for them. However, we weren t lucky with the weather; storm and rain. White sand beach wasn t white but full with stones and rocks. They explained me that this had to do with the storm, but it s hard to believe that the storm threw all these rocks on the beach. Very nice was the beautiful pool and they kept it very clean. The restaurant was good and as a guest you get 10% discount. Massage & Spa was a bit expensive compared to the average rates for Thai traditional massage (Kacha: 600 baht for 1 hour, normal prices 150-250 baht per hour). Bungalow was nice, clean with A/C, electronic safe, color tv and hot shower. From our balcony and room we could view mountain, pool and sea! Only minor thing was that we couldn t really shut all the curtains properly so apologies if people saw us naked from outside. No complaints about the resort, but if you prefer to be amongst the friendly locals, then Koh Chang is not the right place to be. Many hippies and tourists on the island.
