Koh
Chang Resortel, White Sand Beach
Its a big hotel with many rooms, but with bad service, so you cannot
enjoy your stay there. When we arrived at evening we had to wait about
1 hour, because they need long time to find room for us, and understand
only a little English. The breakfast is cold, everyday the same food,
you must seat on old chairs and tables. The service at the restaurant
ist slowly and bad. In the morning you see at the pool the rest from
the parties in the night, they need long time to clean the surrounding
of the pool. The reception look like a livingroom, where nobody clean
the last days. After 4 days I changed the hotel and would never stay
there again, and this for 2900 Bath for one night. |

Koh Chang Resortel, White Sand Beach
A little disappointing but not a disaster. The room was clean and
new, most things were in good condition. There was no minibar nor
room service available, nor tour booking service. And the was only
a heavy curtain on the window, no lace/net, so people walking past
could easily see in unless the heavy curtain was drawn. There were
no mosquito nets for the bed nor on the windows. The staff were mostly
friendly but not very efficient. Some were temporary staff called
in for peak season however. The restaurant had a reputation for slow
service at dinner, but breakfast was entirely satisfactory. The main
drawback was the location. The coast here is rocky, but very gently
sloped, so swimming in the sea requires wading 20 meters over rocks.
There is no beach to laze on. The compensate with TWO swimming pools
- one an 8 lane 50 meter race pool with starting blocks and all...
why? It is beyond walking distance to White Sands or Khlong Phrao
beaches, the former is the main focus of beach life, services, shops
and accommodation on Koh Chang. The resort activities are limited
- there were a few sea kayaks. Even considering their regular (not
peak) rates, compared to other hotels I stayed at in Thailand, this
place was not good value. I didn t hate it but I wouldn t stay again. |

Koh Chang Resortel, White Sand Beach
We paid for de luxe rooms, but got very basic rooms without view or
any luxury. 2 days out of 3 we had no hot water. The staff are friendly
but completely unskilled, they don t speak english, don t now hotel-work,
restaurantwork or bar-work, and can make any question or subject a
big problem - serving 2 gin-tonics for instance. There is no beach,
the location is remote. It is very expensive compared to other resorts
on Koh Chang Don t go there |

Koh Chang Resortel, White Sand Beach
disappointing resort, only positive feature is the true olympic (!)
size swimming pool. No privacy in rooms that are build in rows looking
straight out over the pool to an opposite row. Mysteriously none is
overlooking the sea.. Location advertised as White Sand Beach, but
really not connected to this and a very small beach with a sea entrance
full of slippery rocks. Rock hard mattresses and neck-breaking hard
pillows have seen us leave earlier than booked, even though stay was
pre-paid. We had a car, indispensable on Koh Chang and checked out
other resorts and will be staying elsewhere next time. |
