First Villa - Ao Ban Tai
The accommodations were excellent. It was a bit of a scary trip to get there with the hills, but all in all worthwhile. Additionally, the food was excellent and the staff very courteous. I would definitely go back if the opportunity arose.

Baan Panburi Village - Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi
We booked the new island beach bungalow. the bungalow was located about 3 metres from the beach.Aircon and hot water.they were small and dark. We asked about contruction work onsite they advised no work in progress. We then found that there was contruction work in progress. Not alot noise from the contruction work.Had a bad experience with local thai men drinking alcohol in the afternoon and smashing bottles and been violent with each other.Found a Russian lady annoying as she was working as a tout and continully asking us to go on snorkling trips.Overall the resort is located at the best beach in Koh Phangan, very quite, nice gardens, restuarant had nice food, Just be careful with the seafood tho.The road from the port to the resort is about 15km and most of it is dirt road. Very dangerous on a scooter so we hired a 4x4 car for 3 days while there.advise to hire trail bike or 4x4 car due to the bad road. resort does have a taxi that runs into port town twice a day.100bt per person into town. Back to resort from town can be up to 800bt with normal taxi. best to get many people into a taxi to reduce the cost.Work was in progress on this dangerous dirt road so hopefully it will be concreted in the near future. If you are looking for a nice quite location away from the hussle and bustle we would recommend it.

Loyfa Bungalow - Aow Srithanu Beach
Very freidnly staff and good food at the restaurant. Nice little beach to sunbathe on. Bungalows are clean but basic but ok for the price, in a nice quiet location with a few shops and bars near by but is a pain if you want to go to Haad Rin Or Thong Sala as it takes agaes to get there and back and you have to pay for txis all the time, all in all though great stay and would definatley come back again!

Drop In Club Resort & Spa - Baan Tai
Our stay at the drop inn was disappointing. Do not stay over the full moon period. The hotel has a tradition of holding the largest pre full moon pool party and it gets messy. The pool was out of use for the duration of our stay. The was a huge disappointment. Trying to explain this to the reception staff was extremely difficult and they were very unhelpful. On a plus the rooms are great and fully equipped and the hotel is in a perfect location.

Morning Star Resort - Ban Tai Beach
Very nice resort. Clean room, good food, nice personnel and a nice pool. It was low water at the time so a pool was necassary.

Bankai Orchid Resort - Bankai Beach
The bungalows are nice enough. However, as many of the other reviews state, the service is dreadful. It seems that the place is managed by one lady, whose family (?) help out, but seem to do nothing to really help... our room was not cleaned 2 days in a row and we had to ask for it to be done on the 2nd day. There are also limited sun chairs by the pool. Baan Kai is definitely a nicer place to stay than Haad Rin, even though the beach does not look that nice when the tide is out - however, I think there are probably better resorts in Baan Kai than this one..... We stayed in a resort in Koh Samui for the same price which was leagues better for the money.

Phanganburi Resort & Spa - Haad Rin Nai Beach
We booked a beachfront bungalow which I suggest is the way to go on this resort. The rooms were fairly comfortable.I cannot speak highly enough of the ladies at the massage salon who were naturally friendly and warm. However, this resort needs a major face-lift as the facilities are run down including the restaurant area so dont expect great food. Breakfast was very disappointing. There is also no pool bar which also disadvantages this resort.

Salad Beach Resort - Salad Beach
Salad Beach is a beautiful beach when the tide is high and looks less nice when the tide is low. The snorkeling was good just a few meters out from the beach. The hotel is nice with a beautiful garden and pool area. However the staff was really unfriendly. They made no effort in helping out and had also some trouble communicating in english. I would not reccomend a family with small children to stay in the hotel part since there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the rooms and the rail of the stairs is dangerously low.
