Stayed for 4 night over the full moon period. We stayed in bungalow
26 closest to the beach. It was fantastic. The bungalow itself was
very clean and had air conditioning and was in a traditional wooden
style, surrounded by lush gardens. It was in my opinion the best type
of this kind I saw when travelling as some bungalows are all concrete
and tin roofs. The beach was beautiful and the surrounding village
and bars perfect to expore and eat in. |

We stayed in this resort 3 years ago and it was fantastic. This trip
we booked for 12 days.We could not stay the entire time as they were
in the process of bulding new villas. The noise factor was too much.
It starting at 8am in the morning to 10pm at night and the hut we
were in was right next door too the frantic building.I feel that Sawadee
booking service should have had a comment on there website, that there
was construction so we could have made an informed choice weather
to go there or not. However the staff and management of this resort
are fantastic as well as the food. The huts I believe could be upgraded. The
beach is fantastic and the new sun loungers and umbellas are a treat.
I think it will be great when the new villas are ready and I will
certainly stay there again. |

We booked the new island beach bungalow. the bungalow was located
about 3 metres from the beach.Aircon and hot water.they were small
and dark. We asked about contruction work onsite they advised no work
in progress. We then found that there was contruction work in progress.
Not alot noise from the contruction work.Had a bad experience with
local thai men drinking alcohol in the afternoon and smashing bottles
and been violent with each other.Found a Russian lady annoying as
she was working as a tout and continully asking us to go on snorkling
trips.Overall the resort is located at the best beach in Koh Phangan,
very quite, nice gardens, restuarant had nice food, Just be careful
with the seafood tho.The road from the port to the resort is about
15km and most of it is dirt road. Very dangerous on a scooter so we
hired a 4x4 car for 3 days while there.advise to hire trail bike or
4x4 car due to the bad road. resort does have a taxi that runs into
port town twice a day.100bt per person into town. Back to resort from
town can be up to 800bt with normal taxi. best to get many people
into a taxi to reduce the cost.Work was in progress on this dangerous
dirt road so hopefully it will be concreted in the near future. If
you are looking for a nice quite location away from the hussle and
bustle we would recommend it. |

wonderful location. OUr first burri was disgusting, dark, moldy, and
too small for 2 people. WE were fortunately moved to a newer location
also on the beach, called beach house. It had a rat and no water pressure.
The beach is the best and the rest. is great, also the staff were
friendly and helpful. |

If you want to experience remote beach side living with the friendliest
and most helpful staff then this is for you.Yes its rustic with a
capital R and even though the place was under total reconstruction
when we arrive (and will not be completed for a least 6 months)we
loved it.On arrival our beach side bungalow was not available so we
were upgrade to beach side house for 6 of our 10 day stay.I got to
speak to The Boss who arrived from the mainland and informed him of
our concern re building work ,he apologised and offered discounting
off our next visit(and we will be returning) and sent a gift of wine
for continued good relations,so your there its happening you enjoy
or fume...we had ourselves a ball and entered into the festive spiritof
xmas. The setting of the resort is right on the beach with the sound
of the sea to sooth you to sleep at night and to excite you on awakening. The
jungle encrouches all around and makes for that desert island feel. There
is a wonderful atmosphere in the resort itself and the surrounding
village. This place is not for everyone but where is?The pace of live
is infectious here calm relaxing and friendly also very safe.We loved
it and again extend our thanks to all the wondreful staff Cho Cucumber(Jani)
Jipp Koy and Ole .We also made close friendship with our Thai massueses
Not and Neung who created a beautiful xmas dinner for us and who taught
my wife to drink The Bucket Thai style they were Sanung!! |

So there you are, and be prepared to what you ve booked for. A very
rustic, small, dark, humid, hot beachfront bure. No towels or bed
sheet changes, you do the floor cleaning by yourself; if you are used
to camp, this is a very comfortable room. I dont know why they named
it a Resort. At moment it is under reform, a ugly scenery in the backyard.
But no hard feellings, I guess we were not prepared to that. About
the restaurant the comments are right - its just great and inexpensive
food. The beach is fantastic! |

Resort is currently under refurbishment so a lot looks like a tropical
storm has recently passed through and many facilities are not available.
Huts very basic and not cleaned, one redeeming feature was the restaurant
where staff were courteous and food great tasting and good value for
money. I was also charged at a higher rate than I was originally quoted
on my departure and would ve expected some sort of discount considering
the state of the resort. I wouldn t consider coming back and reckon
after seeing the rate of progress the builders were making it would
take at least a couple years for them to complete the redevelopment.
Beach however is beautiful and a great retreat from the bustle of
city life. |

Fantastic!! Myself and 3 girlfriends stayed there for 4 days as part
of a 2 week holiday in Thailand. Baan Panburi was by far the best
accomadation we stayed in. Great value for money, a beautiful beach,
2 bars in the local village and fun and friendly staff. I would recommend
it for anyone, families, couples and mates wanting to chill out. The
huts were clean and tidy and the hotel food was very tasty! Get booking

We had a beachfront Bure which opened straight to the beach. Very
nice! The Bure itself was far from good. Cramped room with only wooden
pans which added to the somewhat claustrophobic feel of the place.
The fact that the fan were to slow and the the net over the bed had
dense clothing on the top (never seen that anywhere before)meant that
insanely hot nights and mornings became an issue. Quite honestly,
I do not see why everyone (incl.Lonely Planet) makes such a fuzz about
this place. Its mediocre at its best and too expensive for what it
offers. |
