Blue
Village, Ao Nang, Phranang Bay
A bit of a mixed bag this one. Location is a fair distance away from
the beach (ignore their map) and up a hill but that makes it nice
and quiet. It also puts it close to some nice restaurants and tour
operators. The staff seem a little strange, consisting of young girls
and girl-boys (lady-boys in training) and not a responsible adult
in sight. However, somehow things run smoothly enough and the room
was reasonably clean and featured a quirky outside bathroom. The mattress
seemed a bit damp and covered with a waterproof cover, I didn t dare
look underneath. The sleeping area also featured a mosquito net, which
is a must have here. The Blue Village motto is we pamper you with
nature which owing to the location is quite true. The huts are surrounded
by quite an amazing hillside garden full of all manner of wildlife.
The upside is quite a nice natural vibe but humidity and mosquitos
do take the sparkle off the experience a little. All in all not a
bad place to stay, just keep an open mind. |

This hotel is very very overpriced. Stonehard rubber matress on the
floor makes it hard to sleep. The hotel has a deserted feeling over
it. It seems like no one care about service and maintenance. It?s
sad because this hotel could have been nice with its jungle feeling
and nice surroundings. The pool was ok but a lot of junk laying around.
We had two superior And one fan bungalow. The outdoor shower was ok
though you can look in to it from the outside if you want to.Breakfast
was ok but nothing special. No one pick us up from the airport even
that we paid for pickup in advance. It took three days of nagging
before the hotel pay me back the taximoney. If this hotel get softer
beds and cut the rates in half it would be ok but if you have booked
it more than two nights I will suggest that you cancel and pick another
hotel in the area. |

Nice bungalows, but very hard beds. Nice garden in quiet surroundings,
but the service could be better, especially at breakfast... |

Extremely poor value for money. Bed was hard mattress on floor with
torn sheets and dirty blankets. No furniture in room - wardrobe was
a coat stand. Only one light working. Blue sparks came out of plugs.
Walls dirty. Deckchairs mouldy. Pool dirty. Area next to pool full
of rubbish, empty whisky bottles and paint cans. Staff unhelpful and
unfriendly, spent most of their time watching tv. Breakfast - given
2 pieces of toast and one fried egg every day. Crockery chipped and
dirty. Hotel in general was a disgrace. Booked 9 nights but left after
4 and went to Royal Nakara (5 minutes walk down the road) and paid
200 tb less per night for a vastly improved service. Avoid Blue Village
at all costs - it will spoil your holiday. There are many better hotels
in the area. |

Quiet location, but motor bike is needed unless you don t mind a 15
minute walk to the beach every day. Road is dark and dangerous at
night so be careful if walking. Hotel staff is very nice, but smoke
cigarettes constantly, which is disgusting when preparing breakfast.
Room was very nice and clean, but no place to sit or put luggage so
living out of suitcase gets old. Overall, nice place but not sure
if I d return. |

Nice place situated just walking distance from the center of AoNang.
Lovely garden and nice poolarea.Deluxe Bungalow with nice and special
designed room/bathroom with greenplants. The only small bad thing was
that we missed a bedmatress in the bed. It was a plastic bed with
just a sheet on. To warm. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. Warmly
recommended. |

Very nice Resort. Ideal for individual travellers who love nature.
Clean bungalows in a wonderful jungle garden. Bungalows have an outdoor
bath which we liked much. Not suitable for handicapped people or people
seeking luxury. You ll meet animals everywhere, like in the real jungle:
Geckos, Birds, the ownner s monkeys in the lobby, and unfortunately
moskitos. There is a friendly, Swiss management, very helpful and
fluent in at least 3 languages (German, English, Thai). In peak season
the charming daughter helps as well. Rest of staff is very poor in
English. The Blue Village has an ideal location: it is pretty quiet
there, but in a 15 minutes walk you are in the center of AoNang Beach
with all the restaurants and longtail boats. |

Blue Village, Ao Nang, Phranang Bay
Blue Village is situated a 10-15 minute walk from the main sea-front
road in Ao Nang which is why we chose it - an easy stroll into town
but still feeling away from the hubbub. Friendly and helpful Swiss/Thai
owners - we arrived in a downpour and the lady of the house came running
out to the car park with umbrellas for us! We stayed in a superior
bungalow (1750B/night) which was very nicely furnished (inc. air con.,
fridge, T.V.) and serviced each day. The grounds are well set out
with plants and palm trees and there s plenty of space between the
bungalows. There is a well maintained pool. A simple continental-style
breakfast is included - nothing special but perfectly O.K. If we return
to Ao Nang we would definitely stay here again. |

A nice hotel in jungle place, perfect but only for adults not with
a child under two years !! bathroom facilities are outside but not
at the same level of the room. We need to use a stair. There s no
chair for sitting and no cupboard. The teak floor is very slippery.
We felt not secure with our child, so we didn t want to stay. We have
booked for 8 nights but only 5 nights were refunded. We ve payed 8000
bath for one night (2500 bath normaly), because we have made a mistake
in booking 7 nights in advance (the owner is Swiss not Thai and we
are in Krabi not in Chiang Mai : business is business). Becareful
don t made the same mistake... this hotel is not convenient for a
couple travelling with a little child for the others it s a charming
place! |
