The stay did not start so good - some idiot had left a plate with pasta in the narrow space under the the bed, so when we entered the room there was a rat there eating the leftovers. We contacted the reception and 3 persons immidiately took care of the rat and they were very helpful so we could change room. After the first insident we had a perfect stay at the Cabana. The pool area is truly great and also the surroundings. The location near Lo Dalum and Tonsai Bay is perfect when travelling with children (our 5 month old daughter), easy to access the beaches and also the main street with good resturants. Although the hotel lies near to the main street (only 300 m) the place is very quiet. The only disturbance is the construction of the new pier 150 m away, but it did not bother us even though we had the room closest to the pier. Summary: We will definitely return to the Cabana next time we visit Phi Phi Don.

We booked this hotel hoping for- not premium- but a decent standard but we were so wrong! We stayed in wing 5 for two nights. The hotel?s furniture is very worn out, but that?s not really the issue. The room and the whole building looked dirty, accompanied by an unpleasant smell and dirt on towels and under the bed and bathroom. Sand on the floor of the shower room too, which was never cleaned off during our stay. When passing by the gym building we had to take a deep breath to aviod the stink! The key to the room didn?t work the last night of our stay and we had to get the staff come with us and help us enter our room with a special key (ours didn?t work and was not replaced with a new!) We heard other guests having issues with key too. Breakfast was a disaster. There was several choices but everything seemed so unfresh. One could also see broken furniture, garbage, thrown under the first floors of some of the builidings. Once I saw some of the hotel?s cleaning staff watcing TV having lunch break IN one of the guest rooms! Staff looks very unmotivated (apart from front desk, seems like this hotel has internal issues. Hovever they have good customer inflow (it is the only big hotel on this side of Phi Phi). Room and service standard need to improve enormously befre justifying the rates they charge. Definitely overpriced and overrated. It is a pity - the hotel has great location - we had an awsome bay view from the balcony. This, together with the service-minded front desk staff were the only positive assets of this hotel. I would not stay here again unless really major changes happen within hotel facilities and services.

Great location, right where ferry drops you off. Beautiful pool and decent rooms. Nothing spectacular about it...but the view. Service however was not so great. i.e. not in line with what you PAY to stay here.

Overall, it was a nice hotel with an excellent location and view on the island. However, it was the most expensive hotel in our trip, but the least fancy or luxirious one. The delux rooms are quite small and the bathroom is very small, the sheets had stains on them, as well as some of the towels. The pool is great, and the wonderfull view (we had a pool view room) are pro s. Breakfast was satisfying (even though the coffee was terrible). Don t take rooms that face the peer, there is a construction noise from there and also the awfull singer of the hotel will not aloow you to sleep tight, as she sings in full volum some international hits with bad taste...To cut a long story short - we had great time in Phi Phi, but the hotel is over prices comparing to other hotels we stayed in Thailand. On the other hand, they said it before me: location, location, location....

Firstly the hotels look great nice pool area and the rooms are faultless. But the breakfast was not that great for the money and 90% for the staff We're not helpful. Great location. But I would not stay there again for that money.

Hotel has been re-built since damaged in the Tsunami. Have stayed here numerous times pre-Tsunami and hotel is looking back to normal with teh exception of the bungalows which wre not re-built! Rooms ok - great size but not lavish. Staff friendly. Pool is the highlight of the hotel and new pool lounges and umbrella s arrived during our stay. Parts of the hotel have not been cleaned up as yet - very stinky with rubbish under the gym! Overall would recommend if staying in Phi Phi.

First impressions were great - a newly built, well presented hotel at probably the nicest part of the beach. However things started to go downhill from there. Despite arriving 2 hours after the designated check in time the room wasn t ready. After waiting a further two hours the room still wasn t ready so we asked to be transfered to another room. We had booked a double room and were then shown two twin rooms which were not suitable. At this point the baggage handler started cursing and throwing our luggage around - this was receptions fault not ours. After 5 hours we were eventually given a suitable room. Although a very nice spacious room it had obviously not been cleaned propery which we thought was a temporary oversight. However apart from changing the towels and bedlinen the room wasn t cleaned throughout the 5 day stay. We did bring this to the attention of the staff and were told that it would be dealt with but it never was. The room also lacked some of the facilities that it was advertised with - kettle, hairdryer, drinking glasses, on several occasions we even had to ask for soap. The lack of cleaning seemed to be a theme throughout the whole hotel complex and what appears to be a lovely hotel is quite grubby, stained and generally poorly maintained. This seems to be an issue that stems from the staff who in the main were unfriendly, slow, unhelpful and inexperienced. Indeed the majority were on probation and were more interested in trying to look busy than actually helping out guests. Breakfast at the hotel was a plus. With a good variety of food available to suit most tastes. Again the breakfast experience was spoilt by the lack of cleaning and dirty table cloths. The pool area was excellent. Great location with spectacular views over the bay. There was also a nice quiet section of beach which is a bonus for a busy island like Phi Phi. Price wise the resort was expensive for Thailand at over 6000 bahts per night (peak rates). At this cost you would expect a high standard of factilities backed up with a high standard of service. Compared with the various other accomadation we have stayed in throughout Thailand the facilities are good, the location excellent but the whole experience was spoilt by poor staff and a poorly maintained complex. Overall overpriced and not somewhere we would consider going back to unless the staff have a real change in attitude.

The hotel seems very impressive, but there was a very strong smell of sewage in some areas of the hotel, including the dining room where breakfast is served. This horrible smell was there most of the day, and every day. The shower door had some problems of getting open and closed. The stuff at the reception has a very basic English. The sea view of some of the rooms is beautiful.
