Mandarin
Golden Valley Hotel & Resort, Nakhon Ratchasima
I would definately stay there again. This is the place for those seeking
peace and quiet. If you want action, check out the hotel down the
street. The pool is beautiful and a perfect setting. Rooms are spacious
and in good shape, although far from new. The breakfast is very good.
For other meals, you will need to go elsewhere but there are alot
of choices. It s on the same road as the park entrance so very convenient
(not walkable though). |

Hotel rooms, common areas and pool were beautiful, and staff friendly.
So quiet during the week that we were the only guests which meant
the restaurant was not open in the evening. Luckily the resort next
to the hotel had a restaurant. I would stay again. |

This was the worst hotel that my wife and I stayed at while in Thailand.
Besides a lack of English speaking staff, this hotel did not even
seem to care about its guests. We unfortunately had to share the hotel
with two large corporate groups which basically had the run of the
grounds. We were not even allowed to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel
restaurant. Rather we were sent to the Greenery resort next door,
where we ate all of our meals except breakfast, though they always
asked if we would like to have breakfast. We even booked our tours
and transportation through the Greenery resort. Their staff was much
more helpful and pleasant than the Mandarin Golden Valley. In addition
to a rude staff, The Golden Valley was relatively run down for the
room rate, with several types and sizes of small animals running through
the walls. If that were not enough, we were awoken our first morning
at 6am to the sounds of dance music and a loud voice yelling into
a microphone and people cheering from one of the corporate groups,
Amway I believe, while participating in their team building exercises.
If it was not for fact that we had prepaid and that there were no
rooms available at the Greenery resort, we would have switched hotels.
It was almost unbearable, not only for the cost, but as a hotel experience
in general. Never had we been treated with such indifference and lack
of courtesy. Even the housekeeping staff ignored our do not disturb
sign and attempted to enter our room. |

Very nice friendly hotel in a spectaular location. Highly recommended.
The only drawback is the fact that motorcycles cannot be rented in
the locality at a reasonable price. |
