The garden was nice, but the room was not clean at all. The floor and the bathroom were so dirty. We didn t happy with the room.

Really nice resort for the nature lovers. Although our villa was in the middle of a rice field, once you step inside, it feels like you are in a 4 star hotel room. Shower and toilet are ok but not well maintained. Two or three nights is sufficient.

Fern Resort is quite isolated outside the town of Mae Hong Son. Driving back in the dark after a few beers in town, I nearly missed the turning off the main road south. The resort is in a spectacular setting. Our bungalow was just a meter from the rice field that the rooms surround. While walking around the property one constantly hears a ker-plunk sound from bamboo tubes that fill with water and then hit a rock as gravity empties the water from them. The restaurant produced one of the best meals my wife and I have had together in Thailand -- not an easy task since I m a dedicated vegetarian and she s a Thai national. The room was spacious and well-appointed. I was happy that there wasn t a TV since my wife is a bit addicted to mindless shows. We didn t use the swimming pool, but its setting, being in the midst of jungle vegetation, is amazing. The staff at the resort are well trained and were always courteous and helpful. The nighttime market in the town was fun to stroll around, and one can watch football and have a beer or two at the Lakeside Bar & Restaurant.

Idyllic place to stay! Our kids loved wandering around the rice paddies, listening to the sound of crickets and watching the butterflies. The staff were lovely, very kind to us and our twins. Unfortunately there were no high chairs or baby cots, but this would be our only complaint, and we would certainly love to stay again! Really a terrific spot, with lots of attention to detail all around the resort.

We travelled for 9 years, but this is the most beautiful place we stayed in ! We had our own bungalow in the front of the property between the rice fields. The surroundings gardens are so beautiful and tropicol. The atmosphare is relaxed and the people are very friendly. Breakfast is buffet and oke. The bungalows are very clean and up to date, good standard. We couldn t understand to get this luxery for such money. It s just perfect!

Fern Resort,6 km.from Mae Hong Son, was an ideal stop on our drive round The Loop . Very tranquil with a beautiful setting and extensive, well maintained gardens. The staff were very friendly, if a little too casual! The resort could benefit from some freshening up of the lodge interiors and of the signage throughout the grounds. One criticism we do have is of the standard of food which was poor in choice, quality and presentation. Despite this, we would stay in the Fern Resort again.

The resort has a beautiful setting with a great sunset view. Staff were friendly and helpful, however for the price it lacked the finer details such as decent hot water, a kettle and heating for the cold nights.
