Montien Hotel Pattaya, Central Pattaya
The hotel looked identical to the pictures displayed online. The staff
and environment were exceptional. If I go to Thailand again, I will
DEFINITELY stay at the Montien. |

The Montien Hotel Pattaya, Central Pattaya
Very nice indeed. My wife and the teenage boy and I had a sea view
room on the 10th floor. Didn t need the third bed we ordered when
we saw the two large ones and had it taken away. The bathroom is not
quite up to the otherwise 5-star image of the hotel though. The breakfast
spread was fantastic and equal or better than the two other nice hotels
we just visited in Bangkok. Didn t know why the breakfast coupons
indicated continental breakfast only so we expected the typical American
style buns and coffee and didn t know if they would give us a big
breakfast bill at the end but they didn t. The staff was just wonderful
and helpful throughout especially the ones in the breakfast place.
The hotel management should compliment them if they didn t. The registration
clerk was a little abrupt when we checked in but I chalk it off that
she probably had a bad day. It is a nice hotel for families and business
professionals. An advise for those in Pattaya for temporary romance,
go to another hotel. By the way, for those smokers, please drop your
rotten inconsiderate habit because the smoke ruins the air for those
around you. |

Montien Pattaya Hotel, Central Pattaya
Much nicer hotel than I expected. (Can t say the same for Pattaya
itself.) Hotel is between the beach road and the 2nd main streeth
through Pattaya. The entrance is set back about 100 meters from the
2nd main road. The rooms were clean and spacious with nice decorations.
All rooms face toward the ocean, but the view of the ocean is probably
only possible from the 4th floor and higher. No ocean view on lower
floors because of the trees in the garden area. Nice pool view though.
Shower, AC, and TV worked perfectly. Beautiful open-air lobby. Staff
were nice, especially at the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was was
pretty good. Wireless available in the rooms but not free. Pool is
big and surrounded by a nice garden. From the pool, its about a 2
minute walk to the beach. Overall, the hotel was excellent, especially
considering the price (about 2200 baht/night). |

Montien Pattaya Hotel, Central Pattaya
I am a regular guest of Montien Pattaya and was never disappointed
with the services provided by the hotel management and staff. My recent
trip in June 2006 met with some problems. I checked on June 4 at 11
a.m. and was located on the 5th floor. An hour later some noises of
renovation on the upper floor could be heard and it became louder
and louder. The noise didn t stop till 4:30 p.m. Before that I called
up the reception desk and guest relation officer to make the complain
and was told that I will be upgraded to another room the next day.
On June 5 after breakfast, the noise of the renovation began at 10
a.m. This time the renovation noise of drilling and knocking were
even louder than June 4. Again I made several complains and eventually
at 11:30 a.m. I was moved to a quiet room on the 9th floor. After
that I got all the peace, tranquility, and good services provided
by the hotel. However, the upgrading of the room cannot compensate
the mental stress I have to go through for that many hours on the
5th floor. I hope my next trip at Montien will be a pleasant one. |

Montien Pattaya Hotel, Central Pattaya
Overall, very nice hotel. Decent rooms, great breakfast, nice grounds,
pool etc. My only hangup is their policy on guests. If you re a guy
in Pattaya interested in meeting the ladies, the hotel sticks their
nose in your business. They want an extra 800 baht per day/night per
guest. That means if you have one friend there in the daytime and
another at night, you pay extra twice. This is on top of making a
reservation for two in the first place. Conversely, I also spent two
nights at the Pattaya Marriott where they completely respected my
privacy. I will not stay at the Montien again. |

I believe it will be soon next year, Montien Pattaya Hotel is the
hotel of my choice. |
