Mukdara Beach Resort - Khao Lak, Bang Niang Beach
Great room, especially the bathroom. Really nice hotel, and right on the beach. Staff were always attentive, good breakfast spread, close enough to all you need. I suggest renting a motorbike for the stay (200-250Baht per day, but worth it)- taxi s can get a little pricey! I would definitely stay here again.

Baan Krating Khao Lak - Khao Lak, Khuk Khak Beach
The location of the hotel is very nice overlooking the bay. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, but found the staff a bit too relaxed; on some days the room was made in the late afternoon only, and some of the waitresses for breakfast were preoccupied with their make-up and the radio so that we had to help ourselves with tea and the like. Also, sanitary problems created terrible smells each afternoon, and the terrace for sun-bathing is not as well kept as you d expect for teh price you pay.

Ramada Resort Khao Lak - Phang Nga, Khao Lak, Khuk Khak Beach
Hotel is fairly new. Room spacious and nicely furnished. Pool area good. Restaurant is OK, both the Western and Thai menus generous, and food delicious. Personnel friendly and helpful, even if somewhat inexperienced. General complaint about Khao Lak area is that there is not really very much to do. Distance to the airport is quite long and the taxi ride quite expensive at least in Thai standard. Also the distance to the boat harbour is long if one wants to see the beautiful Phang Nga bay and the fantastic Krabi islands such as Phi Phi.

Baan Khaolak Resort - Khao Lak, Nang Thong Beach
Ideal location right in Khaolak centre. Well run resort, fantastic gardens, plenty of beds on clean beach and around pool. Good beach restaurant with great staff and reasonable prices. Plenty of choices for breakfast. We had a sea view villa which was very spacious with verandah. Staff very attentive. Will definitely stay there again.

Takolaburi Cultural and Spa Resort - Khao Lak, Pakalang Cape
Rooms and facilities were quite good but clients need to know before they get there that the resort is 10 km from town. The only dissappointment for us was the lack of customer service from staff and management. I wouldn t recommend eating there either, the food was expensive and not all that good.
