Resort & Spa (former Arahmas Reso, Nai Yang Beach
Good and bad. Location: Close to the airport (although the taxi drivers
charged us 500 bht to the hotel..expensive considering it only takes
15 minutes). We hopped to another resort after our stay at adamas.
Hotel taxi was also expensive that it charged us 1000 bht. Don t take
the hotel taxi. View: The resort, unexpectedly, was under renovation
so only 2 compounds were open to the guest and 3 other compounds with
a better view were shut down. Our room did not have sea view but only
a clear view of a torn down resort also under renovation. There should
have been a prior notice for the construction so that we would have
chosen another resort. Gardening could also see some progress by adding
some more details - thai elements. Food: breakfast was good. We particularly
enjoyed the thai fried noodles. About dinner, however, on the last
dinner we d ordered rock lobster by pointing specifially on the menu
with my finger. But guess what. What we got was a fin of a lobster
(as a decoration) with no lobster to be seen but only PRAWNS. We asked
the manager that if this was what we d ordered and he said that s
what rock lobster was. That rock lobster is served with no lobster
but only with prawns. WHat??? Rock lobster without any lobster meat
but just a fin of it? So we argued that he was deceiving us and then
he starts to give excuses that we asked for prawn in Thai but we don
t speak thai. How could we ask for prawns instead of a lobster when
paying for the price of lobster and when we don t know how to speak
thai? And why did the manager at first say that prawn cuisine was
what the rock lobster actually is how its served and later changed
his argument that we were the one who asked for prawn instead of lobster?
It is only clear that he tried to deceive us by charging us the price
of lobster cuisine while giving us prawns. Mistakes are forgivable
but trying to deceive lobster with prawns??? I don t think so. I really
don t recommend this resort. |

Dear Traveller, this resort is all American. If you want to live thai,

We have just arrived home from our holiday in Thailand. Overall we
had an awesome time. We stayed at Arahamas 1 night because it was
close to the airport. Our plane didn t come in until late and with
the change in time differences all we really wanted to do was have
a quick bite to eat and go to bed. The resort looked magical at night
and in the day. It overlooked the Andaman Sea. Our room was gorgeous
and also overlooked the sea. We wanted to quickly have something small
to eat but we had to pay for buffet - 750 baht each! Then they added
on 10% service charge and 7% VAT. Very expensive when we barely ate
anything and the food quality wasn t that great. We learnt quickly
not to eat in the resorts while we were in Thailand as it is heaps
cheaper (and excl service charges, VAT) and tastes heaps better. Probably
would stay again for airport convenience but wouldn t eat there! |

A fabulous hotel at the end of the bay. Tide permiting you can walk
along the beach to the bars & restaurants of Nai Yang. Alternatively,
a taxi is about ?4. Hotel is somewhat pricey but the quality of the
food, the helpfullness of the staff & the cleanliness was faultless.
We all had a truly fab holiday. |
