The
Mangosteen Resort & Spa, Rawai Beach
We had a fabulous stay at the Mangosteen. The resort is beautifully
laid out and feels very private. It s a little out of the way if you
re interested in easy access to the main beaches but it s perfect
if, like us you re looking for a peaceful place to stay. They have
shuttles to Patong and Phuket Town on alternating days and transportation
on demand from the hotel for around 500 to 600 Baht. The restuarant
food is delicious but is a bit more expensive. But you re paying for
the atmosphere, and presentation which is to be expected at a resort
of this calibre. We stayed in a Superior Jacuzzi Villa and it was
amazing. Beautifully decorated and an incredible bathroom. The Rain
Shower is very relaxing. The service is fantastic and the staff are
all friendly and willing to help. I would highly recommend this resort
to anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful vacation. |

The Mangosteen Resort & Spa, Rawai Beach
I would not hesitate to recommend the Mangosteen to anyone wanting
to stay in Phuket away from the hustle and bustle. It is perhaps a
little isolated but everything about the resort more than made up
for that. The hotel villas are just gorgeous. We had just the basic
superior rooms but they were spacious and beautiful. I don t think
they could haev improved on it at all. The outside shower was great
too! The view from our little private patio was lovely and the view
from the pool and dining area was breathtaking. We could have sat
for hours just taking it all in. The staff were fantastic as well,
so polite and friendly. We used the spa twice and although more expensive
than the massage at the beach , it was well worth the money (in a
relaxing, peaceful setting and still cheap by UK standards). I could
just go on and on about the Mangosteen! We will definitely stay there
again, no hesitation. It made our top 3 highs of Thailand (snorkelling
being number 1)I think the main attraction is that it is a boutique
resort, there aren t hundreds of rooms with loads of guests milling
about. It is definitely an escape from the usual crowded hotels so
if you like easy access to shopping in markets and pubs this is perhps
not the place to come. Anyone wanting a bit of luxury though, this
is the place to be! |

The Mangosteen Resort & Spa, Rawai Beach
Lovely small, secluded and relaxing resort. Accommodation superb,
restaurant good, but choice limited for longer stays. Staff very friendly
and efficient. Ideal location for a peaceful break. |

The Mangosteen Resort & Spa, Rawai Beach
Very nice resort with lovely gardens, and nice swimming pool, suitable
for children. Spacious & comfortable suite-room, large, king-sized
bed which was very comfortable, nice size bathroom, rain shower, good
ambiance with good lighting and outside balcony with great sea & garden
views. Could improve on the service, which was friendly, but could
be more professional and efficient. For exmaple, our pick-up from
airport (prepaid, using res24) did not turn up at the airport and
when we called them, the hotel staff said they could not contact us
so they did not know our arrival time, but I feel that they could
have tried to e-mail to res24 who could then have redirected a query
to us. In the end, we used the prepayment for the return journey.
Overall, a resort with good potential and worthwhile to stay 5 nights
and pay 3. The longer you stay, the more comfortable & enjoyable it
is! |

The Mangosteen Resort & Spa, Rawai Beach
perched on top of hill, the views are breathtaking and faultless.
the rooms are comfortable, and the outdoor shower is fantastic. HOWEVER,
the service is generally very poor - for example: had to carry own
bags to room, very poor understanding of english, staff can be quite
rude and lazy at times, rip off hotel taxi prices and there is NO
private beach or beach club (contrary to website)- share with hundreds
of other tourists. so, the hotel has five star potential - but the
service and everything else makes it at best 2 or 3. |
