Novotel
Phuket Resort (Coralia), Kalim Bay
Novotel - what can one say. Its grand entrance, pools and seaview
are amazing and create for a wonderful stay in a resort located a
stones throw from the heart of the shopping/dining strip. The rooms
were clean and cosy and maintained twice a day.....Buffet breakfast
was quality and offered something for everyone. Did I really not try
those scrumptious pastries!!! Who could fit in all the glorious food
that was on offer. The staff at the Novotel are the diamonds in this
fine establishment. They deserve a big mention and an even bigger
thank-you. Always at your service, smilin, warm and ready to assist
in any way they can. From the ladies attending the rooms to the waiters,
pool boys, gardeners etc. Well done to all at the Novotel a truly
memorable stay and holiday in Phuket!!! PS. for those looking for
a fabulous nite out food & entertainment, you can t go past the PORT
restaurant. Located next to Haagen Daaz Ice creamery on the main road
in Phuket-directly across from the beach. Offering both Thai and Continental,
top quality and the entertainment - believe me once wasn t enough.
Would visit Phuket again just to experience the food and entertainment
at the PORT. |

Novotel Phuket Resort (Coralia), Kalim Bay
My husband, six year old daughter and I enjoyed our 2-night stay at
Novotel Coralia. We had an initial hiccup - getting a room with an
overflowing toilet, but the staff were helpful in resolving this by
changing our room. The scenic views from this property are amongst
the best on the island as it is situated on the cliff. However, not
all the rooms have a seaview. The hotel is separated from the beach
by a road, but you can walk and reach the quieter, northern part of
Patong Beach in 2 minutes. Novotel Coralia is charming with touches
of Thai in the overall architecture as well as the furnishing in the
rooms, but could do with a bit of renovation overall. If you are travelling
with small children or do not like to climb too many stairs, then
I would advise that you ask for a room close to the lobby - room in
the 300 & 400 series. There are no lifts since the hotel is built
on the hillside in tiers and if you are in the rooms farthest from
the lobby, restaurant and pool areas, this would mean having to climb
atleast 4-5 flights of stairs. |

Novotel Phuket Resort (Coralia), Kalim Bay
This was the second time(last year at the same time of year) that
we ve stayed at the Novotel. We originally picked it for their 3 pools
which cascade down onto each other, the all inclusive breakfast and
the fact that it is about a 20min walk out of the main shopping area.
All of the above remain true for this stay. Staff are very friendly
although most can not help with specific enquiries due to the language
barrier.Excellent security.I was fairly disturbed by house keeping
refusing to believe that a hair dryer was cutting in and out depending
on how you held it. At first they refused to replace the dryer telling
me that it was OK. I really had to push the point that the dryer was
dangerous. As the attendant went to change the dryer with another
one,a part of the dryer fell off and hit the ground! I would probably
look at accomodation in other hotels near the Novotel next time to
see what s on offer. A lot of hotels are nearing completion around
Patong. Be careful booking a trip to the Phi Phi islands...it sounds
like a great trip but bare in mind that the isalnds are 40km away
from Phuket and unless the water is like glass and at low tide, approx
half of the people on the boat will be sick. My partner and I picked
a trip where there were 4 large outboard motors rather than trips
which had only 2 motors in the hope of a faster and smoother trip.
WRONG!!!Many people were sick including my partner as the boat was
basically air borne on a 3 to 4 foot swell(which isn t that big).
We met many people who did the trip with various forms of transport
and all of them got really sick. If you choose to do so, a tuk tuk
ride in or out of Patong to the hotel was 100bht. Settle on the price
first or go to another tuk tuk. So yes I d definitiely go pack to
Phuket and the Patong area but I d look for alternative accomodation. |

i do travel all over asia almost every other week. So I know the standard
of hospitality business. My experience at the Novotel last week was
the worst. I will never stay there. I am wondering how they survie
the competition..and who added the comment below..they must be own
staff.. |

Great hotel with friendly staff, and a very tasty breakfast buffet.
Location is also great, just a short walk from Patong beach and nightlife.
And also easy to walk to Kalim beach if you just wanna relax and avoid
the crowds. One minus tough. Rooms are clean, but they are not good
with cleaning the balconies. We actually had a big terrace on the
ground floor, but the funiture was dirty and the tiles where growing...
Would have been nice with some private sunbeds on the terrace? |

Great location. The breakfast is pretty decent. I would avoid using
the car service from the hotel. It will be cheaper and easier if you
just reserve a car at the airport (around 550Bht). The fitness facility
is pretty good. Since there are three pools, you will never feel crowded. |

This is my second time staying at Novotel and I will probably come
back again. The hotel is in a perfect location right next to Patong
Beach but yet just far enough away that it is nice and quiet at the
resort. The staff are very courteous and friendly. I can t wait to
come back again! Thank you Novotel! |

Great staff!! Smiles all round!! Excellent food & accommodation. If
you have a physical disability it is not a problem for the staff to
transport you up the hill in the shuttle bus. Clock radio/ iron/ironing
board would be appreciated by guests. We had a great time & would
have no hesitation in recommending this resort to anyone. Thank you
all for making our time with you so pleasuable. |

Fabulous setting and wonderful pools. Food and drinks very reasonable
and the beeer was cold (if you got it by the stubby and also asked
for a glass of ice to stand it in). Good value buffet meals and extremely
friendly and helpful staff. ***Beware if you have any physical disability
as the resort has many many steps and no elevators - a nightmare for
bad hips, knees and backs. Once over this however a great place to
stay. |
