Swiss
Palm Beach Co.,Ltd, Patong Beach
Swiss Palm is a funny little place located on the quieter end (if
such thing exists) of Patong. The service is reasonable, breakfast
is fair but nothing spectacular with a choice of western and asian
(mainly eggs, pancakes, rice porridge). The rooms are apartments with
a small lounge, kitchen, dining, toilet area downstairs and bedrooms
upstairs with a shower/toilet. It s a little outdated for the price
in my opinion especially since other more recognised hotels are on
promotion during low season, so it might be best to search around.
I think this type of hotel is better suited for families holidaying
for an extended period. We didn t make use of the kitchen since its
cheaper to buy food in thailand rather than attempting to prepare
it. It s about a 10-15 min walk to the main strip but a 5 min walk
to the beach. We went during low season and there was enough people
to make patong feel like a mini bangkok, if I went during high season
I would definately choose Karon or Kata to stay at if going to Phuket,
however in saying that it depends on what kind of holiday you want
and I suppose your age, my friends and I are young so Patong was central
and fun to all the night spots, but I ve never been to a sleazier
place in thailand with 60+ men trying to pick up 17 year old thai
girls. It s a disgrace, if your not interested in seeing old westerners
touching youlg girls then avoid Patong in general, it clearly goes
on in all of thailand but it seems so much more evident in patong. |
