Hin Sai Resort, Chaweng Noi Beach
Very poor management - they tried to palm us off with a different
bungalow to the one we booked, but we refused. Since the persons staying
in our booked bungalow refused to move, we moved out of the hotel
the next day, and swore NEVER to return to such an unprofessional
place. The bungalow we stayed was poorly maintained, overall the resort
is very poorly run. Never again! |

Baan Hin Sai resort is a truly beautiful and comfortable place to
stay! The service of the resort is good though it is sometimes hard
to communicate properly - then everything is taken care of with a
smile! We would not recommend this place to anyone who has trouble
moving and walking since there are steep hills and steps to get up
from the apartments and bungalows to the restaurant and reception.
The room we had was absolutely cute with a great view over the sea!
The food and drinks are also fine aswell as poolareas and the area
of the resort as a total. It is situated a bit outside Chaweng away
from the beach but it is easy to get in to Chaweng by taxi or songthaew
for no money at all! If you want to relax and have peace and quiet
- this is the place to go! We didnīt try the Spa but it looked really
nice. |

We were very disappointed with this hotel. We were married in Koh
Samui and spent 2 nights at Baan Hin Sai after our wedding at a private
villa. Because of the special occasion we paid for the best room available
(seaview deluxe villa at 4300 baht per night) The resort was quite
old and the villas badly needed a refurbishment. The photos no longer
reflect the decor of the rooms and despite us being there in high
season the seafront restaurant was closed. This resort did not represent
value for money. |

As a general comment, I think this resort is perhaps slightly past
it s glory days, and is a little expensive for what you get. Our stay
in January, which is supposed to be high season (or close to it),
revealed that there was hardly anybody there. Whilst not a problem
you might say, it did mean that the the bottom restaurant was not
open at all which meant having to use the noisy upper restaurant right
on the main road. It also meant a lack of atmosphere, and you just
wanted to go somewhere else to eat and drink. Our delux seafront bungalow
included a bath tub on the deck, which did not produce any hot water.
Consequently it was not used in the 6 night stay (a shame as it was
part of the reason for selecting B.H.S.) The big hill does get to
be a bit of a hassle even if you are quite fit (but only if you re
towards the bottom). Room was clean, comfortable and well serviced
daily, though some of the decking needs replacing. The grounds are
lovely and well maintained too. I personally think it s overpriced
and wouldn t return, but then I prefer beach access also which BHS
doesn t have as a swaying factor. |

Baan Hin Sai is a beautiful resort. The facilities are well maintained
and the rooms are spacious and clean. The resort doesn t have a beach,
but we knew that prior to arrival, and transfers to Chaweng are frequent
in the morning - although last bus is 5.00pm, so following that you
will need to either use a taxi, or hire a moped. I would strongly
suggest the moped option as they are only 300 baht per day and are
cheaper than the taxi s of a night. Only issues were the hot water
in our room didn t work and after a number of requests nothing changed,
so we didn t worry in the end. Also, the television didn t pick up
any channels as the resort aerial was broken. We wouldn t normally
care as we were in a tropical paradise, although there was a lot of
rain and as Baan Hin Sai isn t very central, sometimes staying in
and watching TV is all you can do. Finally, for an resort with a lot
of international guests, there was a major lack of understanding even
the most basic requests in English... just a small thing as overall
a beautiful, very peacful and quiet resort. |

Wonderfull, paradise. I actually live in China and i can see the real
difference between this wonderfull hotel with kind team and chinese
resorts. Everybody in this hotel is really kind and they will help
you to fullfil your dreams. There is no beach in front of the hotel
but the beautifull scenery from the second swimming pool will help
you to forget this. Moreover by renting scooters, you ll be able to
travel freely all over the island. A perfect place for relaxing holidays. |

Great choice as was nice a quiet. Spotlessly clean room as we had
a beachfront bungalow could see the sea. Not good if don t like hills
as steep climb to top restaurant (loer one closed. But golf cart transport
when dry. We were ready for this as had read the write ups. No beach,
rocky shore which also helped with quietness and security. 2 lovely
pools one at top and one seaview. Breakfast was a little repetitive
and got boring but plentifull,we stayed 7 nights but endless coffee
and juice helped. Evening food plenty of choice Thai and int. Would
stay again |

at arrival we met the friendly staff. as well at the frontdesk as
in the restauraunt. later a golfcar brought us to our very nice villa.
everything was perfect untill we went to check out the rest of the
surroundings of the hotel. the hotel is build on a very steap hillside.
it s a very personal thing but we didn t like that at all. you could
call for the golfcar but it s just that we like to walk at our vacation.
another thing that disapointed us was the beach. there where more
rocks than sand. besides these personal disapointments i can only
say that the rest of the hotel and the surroundings is ok. saddly
for baan hin sai we left after 1 night. they where disapointed but
very friendly, didn t charge us anything extra and even called a cab
for us. after our stay we went to jasmine hotel on lamai beach. it
was only open for 2 weeks and (not jet) on sawadee.com. this hotel
i would recomment to everybody who would go to koh samui. it has everything
you need for a perfect vacation. but when baan hin say was build elswhere
i would recomment it strongly too. |

Fantastic, just what you want if you are looking for a relaxing break;
we stayed in Mid Feb2005 and would definitely stay here again. We
elected for a Seafront Deluxe Villa and were not disappointed. There
are 4 Villas at the bottom of the hill, we were given No 332 and I
think this is the one which is most private. On the veranda there
are 2 sun-loungers and a hot tub (no spa unfortunately, but you can
take a bath under the stars!). The view is partially disrupted by
trees, but for the most part you have a lovely view out to sea. The
Hotel is built on a hillside and has 2 pools and 2 restaurants, one
each at the top and bottom of the hill (the lower restaurant is only
open in the evening). There is also a spa where you can have a range
of relaxing massage treatments. Within 5 minutes of arriving the telephone
rang, it was the front desk to enquire if everything was ok and to
inform us if we needed the golf-cart just to call reception. There
are 2 golf-carts which take guests up and down the hill - a God-send
in the heat, so no need to walk as in an earlier review. It is a little
isolated, but that s what we were after and it s only a few minutes
to Chaweng or Lamai by cab. For getting around you can take a taxi
or taxi/bus to pretty much anywhere, but do make sure you agree a
price with taxi drivers before setting off. The hotel staff will advise
the going-rate, which was 50 Baht to Chaweng. Chawneg is pretty much
the focus of tourist life, there are numerous shops, restaurants bars
and clubs. Lamai is similar. You can also hire mopeds and cars (mostly
small 4x4 type) car hire is around 1000 Baht per day (700 Baht = Ģ10
approx) - do check the tyres etc before signing for the car/bike though!
Hotels in Thailand don t provide irons and ironing boards, but you
can get your laundry done cheaply in one of many places in Chaweng
or Lamai, or take your own iron! If we had one compalint, it would
be that the staff are a little slow to lay tables at breakfast time
- and if that s all we have to complain about, it must have been good! |

we had a wonderful stay on this resort. The staff is friendly, the
location is great. The sea front bungalow is very comfortable. The
negative points are that there is no beach and access to the sea by
the rocks is difficult when there is some waves. The 2 swiming pools
are fantastics. 1 with seau view, and an other just at the shore with
an incredible view on the sea! You must notice that the resort in
on an hill side and that climbing the path to the restaurant for lunch
or breakfast is not suitable for elderly people or disabled. they
have facilities with small cars to bring you up hill but you ll have
to ask for transport. the resort has 2 restaurant, one a little tooclose
from the road an other just on the shore with wonderful view on the
sea. This second restaurant was open 3 days on our week stay, it s
much more convenient thant the principal one by the road. Baan hin
sai is a good option for a quiet place not far from Chaweng and Lamai
beachs. Transport is quiet easy as taxis and songteaw passes on the
main road very frequently. This resort is very quite, the garden is
delightful and the service is good. |
