I m a Moslem from Malaysia and stayed in a Standard Service Apartment
during my holiday in Samui. The apartment is NEW, has nice and clean
modern Thai interior design, exactly looks like the pictures they
show on the website. The hotel offered daily bottled plain water in
fridge but no safe box available. The breakfast is nothing to shout
about, it s served a la carte, you can choose maximum 5 dishes in
the menu only!. If you can only eat Halal food (Moslem food), I ve
found one opposite Bangkok Hospital Samui in Chaweng (never tried),
and the other one at Lamai Food Centre in Lamai (excellent, spicy
food). Basically you ve got to rent a motorbike or a car in order
to go to the beach, as it s located quite far from the beach. However,
it is located near to a Tesco Lotus, where you can easily get your
necessities, if you stay long in Samui. The reception guy, Tom (a
Thai guy) is so helpful, and you can trust him. You just need to be
nice with him, and he ll assist you whatever he could. I ve booked
a motorbike (competitive rates), a trip to Angthong National Marine
Park (cost lesser than the counter price) and a car transfer (it s
big and new - standard market rate) to the peer on my return, all
from Tom. I rate this hotel at 8 out of 10 points. |

Booked 10 nights in two Premium Villas. Very disappointed with the
villas and the attitude of the management, although the staff were
friendly. Sawadee s website states that all rooms in Villas are air-conditioned.
They are not, only bedroom. It also states all villas have an outside
bath-tub as well as the jacuzzi, wrong again, only a bucket full of
cold water. Only one villa had cooking equipment (Microwave, fryer
etc) and again only one villa had satellite TV, the other had cable.
Also, a lot of mosquito s in or around Villa. When these problems
were highlighted to the owner his attitude was well I got my money,
tough luck for you! There was no gesture of good will offered by him
and we were told to take it up with our booking agent. When we arrived,
we were offered breakfast in our villas each morning , after our complaint,
we never received the breakfasts, which wasn t too bad as the food
sucked! Other things to note, if your inclined to bring a guest to
your room of an evening, the hotel charges a strict 500baht joiner
fee . There is building work going on next to the pool and if you
want to hire a scooter don t book it through the hotel, they charged
250 baht for 1 night even though their welcome pack states 200baht
and if you were to walk 500m down the road you d get one for 175baht.
For the money you can do so much better than the Baan Kao Hua Jook.
There is zero customer service from the owner, it s all about money.
Which is a shame as it has the potential to be a great Hotel, but
I won t be staying there ever again. |

Overall we felt lucky with our stay here for 10 nights. There was
a house being built directly opposite the only communal swimming pool
which of course was quite noisy. We stayed in a superior villa with
it s own pool so was not inconvenienced too much by this. Unlucky
though for people in the apartments. The service was o.k, nothing
special - more like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. There is no
safe in the rooms and the shuttle doesn t run past 6 pm into Chaweng
- taxis s are cheap though. The staff speak limited English although
try hard to please. The villas were cleaned very well every day so
no complaints with this. The breakfast was fine - not much choice
but cooked to order. The rest of the food though was not nice - wouldn
t recommend anyone eating there. Sunbeds around the pool could also
be an issue as there s only a few there and lots of apartments! Another
point to note is the once a week Escape House Party that is located
across the road (100 yards away or so) - noisy isn t the word!!! This
happens once a week from 9 pm to 7 am. I don t think this resort operates
a bug programme as the mosquito s were rife! We ve been to Thailand
5 times and even after buying lots of cans of spray for the villa,
coils burning and repellent on us we got bit approx 20 times - you
can see them around the roof and doors!! Mosquito nets would have
been good. So, all in all - not bad for the price paid. The villa
was lovely but wouldn t go back again as you could end up in a villa
that s overlooked and the service wasn t as expected. |

It¡¦s no ¡§private¡¨ at all! The building opposite to our villa can
directly see inside the villa so we not feel comfortable. The service
was also not professional. When we asked the staff to make a reservation
to Tamarind Spa for our next day spa treatment. The staff-Tom pushed
us to buy their recommend spa store and did not call Tamarind Spa
and lied us he already make a reservation for us. So when we went
to Tamarind it¡¦s full! It¡¦s overprices for that kind of lousy service!
And we will not go there again! |

The staff wre very friendly and helpful. The villa s were very nice
and were kept spotlessly clean. The plunge pool was very welcome with
the weather being so hot. We hired a 1 bed villa and a 2 bed villa
and it was well and truly value for money. The hotel is about a 15
minute walk to Chaweng but getting a bus on the main road is easy
to do. I would recommend hiring a moped or car. My one main criticism
is that the hotel provides several free transfers to Chaweng however
on each occassion we went to use the 8pm transfer they were never
running. |

Stayed in villa, only AC in bedroom, NOT in all rooms ,as stated on
Sawadee, where it also is promised credit cards accepted ,which is
not true, when we wanted to pay next months rent with VISA or AMEX
the answer was can not ,and we had to transfer from bank. Privacy
ok in villa, but no air, so the heat almost killed us and we had to
stay in bedroom with AC most of the time. Manager cheated about prices
twice, told ut special price , which turned out to be presicely ordinary
tariff. The nearby Lake side music event played VERY VERY loud music
whole night until seven in the morning at least once a week. Will
never stay there again. |

The hotel has 2 types of accomodations. I booked a VILLA, I dont know
about the appartment. The villas are really GREAT !!! Mine, a normal
one, was very spacious, around 150 sqm ! Very big bedroom with large
and confortable bed, large dinig/sitting/kitchen, with sofa and everything,
inside bathroom; outside bathroom ! Everything is very clean and well
maintained. The villa is in a private garden ! And, the best of everything,
YOU HAVE A PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL in your garden! Its not big, its
more than a big whirlpool, but its great ! The staff is very friendly,
especially Morn, who will do everything to help you. You can rent
motorbikes with them. The hotel is quite far from the beach, I tried
once to go there walking and it was terrible and dangerous because
of the traffic. So you need a motorbike, 5 minutes from north of Chaweng
Beach. I highly recommend this hotel, and 4500 for the villa is really
a good price in Chaweng !!! |
