Imperial
Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach
The hotel is very nice and the staff is friendly. Good location on
a quiet beach. Just a short ride to Chaweng and shopping. The restaurant
serves good european food, but if you want to eat Thai food you can
get the same food for half the price on one of the restaurants on
the beach. We came to Koh Samui after spending one week on Koh Tao.
We wanted to continue diving on Koh Samui, however the dive trips
from Koh Samui is by speed boat up to Koh Tao - so if you want to
dive travel to Koh Tao - not Koh Samui. |

Good hotel - reasonably priced including bar meals and drinks. Evening
food is slightly more expensive, however was one of the best meals
I had on Koh Samui. |

The hotel was generally good. The staff were friendly and helpful
and the diving shop was excellent. However we did have some problems
that took a little of the shine of the stay. First, was the construction
site next door of which we were not advised before booking. The construction
was noisey and if you made use of the beach side massage (an excellent
little service) the building they are located withn actually shook.
Secondly the A/C leaked on our first night and left a puddle in the
middle of the floor, however to the hotels credit it was repaired
within an hour. Thirdly if your airport pick up is later than the
check out time you can book a shower room. Unfortunately the A/C in
the shower room we were allocated did not work and we ended up having
a sauna. In summarry this is a good hotel which is a bit old and needs
a soft refurbishment and will be a lot better of when the construction
next door is finished. |

An excellent hotel with all that you can wish for! Beautiful place
on a quiet, white-sandy beach, very friendly staff who love children,
good food, excellent rooms, nice, big swimmingpools and walking distance
to other good restaurants on the beach. A good base for exploring
the island and taking daytrips to the surrounding islands. Can be
recomended to people of all ages, with or without children. |

The hotel is positioned on what is claimed to be one of the best beaches
on Koh Samui, we were really disappointed, the amount of rubbish/debris
was an eyesore. The hotel patch of beach was kept clean though. The
resort itself is a gem. The poolside rooms were clean and well presented.
Both pools were clean with ample sun beds. The staff were very friendly
and always stopped to speak. The breakfast is of a fair standard with
a little to suit all tastes. There is a free shuttle into Chewang
for shopping. A day at the other Imperial Resort (Chewang) is worth
doing, again a shuttle runs to and from the boathouse. There are a
few eateries outside the resort and a 7/11 for any essentials. We
can recommend the on site tailors (Rashid) having used several tailors
around town for suits and shirts we found her deals and advice the
best. A very relaxing break the only bad point in my opinion being
the beach. |

I had a lovely large room with view of the gardens. The swimming pools
are beautiful and the beach is wonderfully quiet and clean. I found
great cheap Thai food on the beach (first place as you turn right
on the beach from the hotel). I listened to advice from this website
re: not eating dinner at hotel and that was a good decision (mainly
due to cost). Staff are extremely helpful and very nice. Don t go
here if you want exciting nightlife on the beach though! But a perfect
place for a quiet friendly beach experience |

our room a premier deluxe was very nice plenty of room for myself
my husband and our two children it was cleaned every day and fresh
towels replaced, breakfast was an excellent buffet every day with
as much as you could eat, main meals were good with a selection off
the menu, but along the beach was a good selection of places to eat
if you dont want to eat in the hotel, the staff are very friendly
and absolutely love children , however if your kids dont like the
beach or the pool there isnt much else for them to do.In the hotel
they have themed nights 3 times a week but apart from that no other
entertainment. apart from minor details we had an excellent holiday
and would recommend the Imperial Boat House |

Imperial Boat House Hotel, Choeng Mon Beach
Our stay at the imperial Boat House exceeded our expectations. Its
an ideal location for families or couple wanting peace and quiet.
And if you do need more action, Chawan is only 10 minutes away by
taxi. Cheong Mong beach is excellent; very soft sand, not too crowded,
safe for water sports. The hotel s free of charge windsurfers and
kayak were an unexpected bonus. Huge swimming pool. The hotel rooms
were spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was very good; other
meals were also good but a little expensive. However, there are plenty
of restaurants a stroll along the beach for less expensive meals.
Overall it is good value for money; however, it best not to use the
hotel s extras like mini-bar, laundry and internet - espcially when
these are all available for a fifth of the price about 20 yards for
the main reception! |

Charlie Chaplin restaurant, across from the hotel on the main street,
has the best REAL Thai food we tasted on the island. The hotel is
located right on the beach, with excellent facilities, beautiful gardens
and friendly staff. Our family of four had two adjoining rooms. The
rooms were very comfortable, beautifully decorated and clean. However,
we were very disappointed that our expensive Premier Deluxe rooms
had a view of the backs of the rice barges with their noisy airconditioners.
These barges are very tall and basically formed a mountain of teak
in front of our balconies. Also, we sometimes had to endure the smell
of raw sewage just outside our rooms. The hotel should definitely
charge less for these rooms since they are not as good as other Premiere
Deluxe rooms. If you stay here, just make sure you are not booked
into the last block of rooms before the beach. |
