Centara Villas Samui, Laem Set Beach
We stayed here for the last part of our stay in Samui after being in the busier Chaweng Beach. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. A very relaxing place to stay. One negative is the price of food and drink, VERY overpriced for Samui...closer to prices at home. Breakfast was great...big buffet, all you can eat. The Villa was bright, clean and comfortable - was a little worse for wear. It was a great time of year to be here, plenty of space by the pool and beach. Rained only at night if it did rain. Enjoyable stay but not totally happy about the prices.

The location and amenities of the hotel met our expectations. The villas are well appointed and the pools and facilities are good. The lobby area is quite comfortable to spend some time in the evening reading the newspapers or enjoying a drink. The free shuttle vans to the two towns help make the location acceptable. For certain, the location is more suitable for us than the busy and rather typical “strips” found in most thai tourists areas. The hotel offers moped rentals which is a good way to get out and explore on your own. The only negatives we could comment on are the breakfast which was poor compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at on samui and phuket. Also, the pools do not have enough loungers and towels. Some guests (you know who you are), took pride in occupying their loungers all day while using for less than a few hours. I think the staff needs to do a better job at managing the limited loungers and towels. Overall I would recommend the resort

Lovely Hotel, although there is not much to do at night, so they might want to look ant some interesting things for the youth, also need some more interesting activeties on the beach. But other than that very neat and clean and a lovely venue. Staff was very freindly.

The resort itself was beautiful from the bungalows, the beach, reef cafe and the pools. However my only complaint is the preferential treatments that were given to European guest compared to guest of Asian decent (Filipinos) like my fiancé and I were. The little things like the complementary fruit platter or the decorative slice of fruit on the ends of cocktails which I noticed other guest were given even though they ordered the same meals/drinks as we did and were even served straight after we were. Apart from that our stay was excellent and the best way to wind down. Speaking of winding down, I strongly recommend the Centara Spa at the resort.

This hotel is ideal for a quiet stay on this lovely island away from the hustle & bustle of Lamai and Chaweng, but within easy reach of both these centres - especially using the free hotel shuttle. Staff are friendly and efficient. hotel amenities excellent and the food is excellent. 2 drawbacks - the beach -s fronted by a coral outcrop which rather detracts from it s use and you should be prepared for a bit of a climb between the restaraunt/pool areas and the lobby. Good enough to consider using again on our next visit.

Tastefull and clean rooms. The resort itself has seen better times although it looks ok. The staff is friendly but not very helpfull. The hotel charges far too high prices for everything you use and it is far away from everything. The breakfast is with a lot of choice but bad bread.

The Resort was everything we wanted. Peaceful, beautiful, happy and helpful staff, lovely, clean bungalows, food was great, breakfast buffet had everything one could wish for..plenty and great variation to chose from. Our daughter recommended this resort to us,she had visited it for a meal whilst holidaying in Koh Samui, and we certainly are pleased we took her advise. We found the distance from the town wasn t a problem, the resort provides a free shuttle reguarly and the hewt buses are cheap and reguarly go in and out of town. The beach and the three pools allow for plenty of space for swimming. The best feature about the Resort as far as we were concerned was the fact that it isn t a huge impersonal resort like some in the town, and there was always space and calm, quietness surrounding us. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there, and on arrival we found cake, champagne, fruit and our bed beautifully made up with flowers in the shape of hearts. The staff were asked by our daughter via email to do something special, and they certainly did without fuss or cost. Very much appreciated by us. A wonderful holiday.

Excellent hotel in quiet location. Rooms were delightful and staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of steps from reception down to restaurant area so not suitable for some. Lovely beach and pools. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful resort in a very quiet part of the island. Shuttelbus to Chaweng and Lamai. But the bus should go more often or the hotel should have two busses to be able to go more often. The beach was not good at all this time of year (June), but the hotel has several swimming-pools. Good breakfast, and the restaurant has theme evenings, but the menue is rather poor if you would like to order from it. All in all a very nice hotel for the price you pay.
