Villa Beach Resort, Chaweng Beach
The rooms were nice and our check in was warm and we felt very welcome.
The room shower was the best part. The breakfast was not up to expectations
as there was very little choice. On checking out we had a bad experience
as we inquired to extand our stay and ask what were the rates. To
our suprise the rates were increased. Even when the manager come in
and said he hgives us a special discount the rates were higher than
our first nite. you can guess, we left. |

Very old, smelly and overpriced!Booked the double, wooden level. Will
not recommend, you can get twice as good rooms at lower price just
next door. |

On arriving we were stunned at how awful the split-level bungalow
looked. It looked like a garden shed with an upstairs added. The final
straw was when I noticed that I could see daylight through the walls,
there were holes in the thin wooden panelling. This and the fact that
the windows didn’t close properly probably accounted for the room
being full of mosquitoes. We went to reception and asked if there
was any better accommodation available, fortunately we got a pleasant
deluxe room at an extra 500 bht per night. However this room was far
from perfect as the bathroom ceiling was all black mould and had a
couple of holes which constantly dripped water. We ate once at the
Sea side restaurant, which was the worst meal of our 3 week trip and
one of the most expensive. I also overheard other people complaining
about the food. Do not eat here, as it is terrible food. Breakfast
was OK. The location was very central for the nightlife. The beach
area was not good, as it is behind a breakwater where the water becomes
very dirty with debris. The beach south of here is much better. Overall
not recommended, we stayed in much better accommodation in other places
on Samui at lower prices. |

Resort is ok, even if the rooms are not as shown on pictures (choice
of colors inside very unhappy) and the terasse could have been cleaner.
Slightly nicer is the Island and spa resort (also available on Sawadee.com),
but they have no pool. This seafront bungalows were very clean, nice
decorated and the bathroom was superbe for usual Thai standards. |

A good resort situated directly on the beach. The staff was very friendly
and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable overlooking the
garden. Everything worked well. The room and the facilities were a
little worn. |

The room itself was clean and decent, but for the room rate - almost
$50USD I think we were a bit short changed. The room was quite small
and had very little natural light. Also, our shower was difficult
to use. Aside from the room the property was very nice. Pretty garden
and helpful staff. The breakfasts were very good and the facility
offered the BEST beachside massages we found anywhere along Chaweng
beach. |

The first rooms offered were no more than accomodation fit for farm
animals. The shower romm/bath room had mould growing on the walls.
The bed was a mattress on the floor. The wardrobe stank. I cannot
adequetly describe how bad the romm was. After complaining another
room was found in a more modern part of the resort but was only available
for an additional 500 baht per night of course. Crap! |

It was one of our most horrible stay in a hotel!!! We booked one of
the wooden bungalows. On the pictures of the hotel s web site you
couldn t see that there are no beds. Just some mattresses on the floor.
But this was not the worst of all. The worsest thing was that there
was the whole wall full with mould fungus and the smell of this!!!
Our receptionist was a very big cockroach saying hello... O.K., after
first shock we made immediately an upgrade to a better room. But it
was not really better because of the noises at night time. The bungalows
are double so that you can hear your neighbour s breath.... We had
some really nice neighbours coming home at night yelling and stamping
through the room like an elefant. Then switching on TV with loudness
like in a disco. Very nice!!! Two times a week in the early morning
refuse collection came and made a lot of very loud noises in front
of our room. It was really not the best place we stayed in the last
10 years!!!! Stuff was very nice and helpfull. One night on the street
in front of the hotel some taxi-drivers made a competition who has
the most powerful loudspeaker in his car? . So we called the receptionist
to stop this. And he stopped it - for that night..... We not recommend
to take the wooden bungalows and also not the bungalow opposite to
the reception desk. The kitchen is next to this rooms so you have
also the noises coming out there!!!! The rest of the resort needs
a renovation at all!! We would not go back there!!!! |

GARDEN VIEW, WAS GETTING A LITTLE OLD BUT WAS CLEAN AND I WOULD STAY
THERE AGAIN. BREAKFAST WAS GOOD AND IT WAS NICE HAVING THE POOL AND
RESTAURANT NEXT TO THE SEA. STAFF WERE ALL VERY NICE. |
