Samui Sense Beach Resort, Lamai Beach
I stayed in the superior room for a couple of nights in Jan 2007. Room was very small. Service was below average. Breakfast and restaurant didn t impress me either. The best thing about this hotel was its location. This hotel is overpriced and not recommended.

Nice resort with very friendly and helpfull stuff. We stayed 4 nights at the thai villa. The room was clean and comfortable (with a hairdryer and save). The villa had pretty much space (enough for two person). The room is a little bit dark, but I think it s normal for a thai style villa. The pool is nice and the beach is clean and quiet near (20 m away). The breakfast is ok (you can choose between continental-, american- and thai breakfast). We would give 7 of 10 possible points.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The staff of the Samui was excellent and very friendly. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Stayed in one of the Thai Villas and it was fine. I will stay here again if I get back to Samui.

Great location, friendly helpful staff and good facilities. The pool was nice and the restaurant was adequate. The bathroom was not the best and the room a little dark but comfortable. On the whole a 7 out of 10.

Galaxy Resort, Lamai Beach
The Galaxy Resort was in a perfect location for my needs, the staff very friendly and the room comfortable. BUT The hotel was in the middle of renovations to the main building, which we had not been informed about, so quite noisy during the day. The restaurant closed at 6pm every day although advertised till 11pm, but restaurants outside were very good. can really reccommend the Salatai as the food was superb.

A good choice that we made off the internet - not as large as some, but good facilities. Very quiet since the rooms are well away from the busy main street in Lamai. Nice pool and rooms. The restaurant food and staff attention were very good, and the setting right on the beach front was lovely at night. Our waiter Me was great. The beach was wider than at some locations further south. They are expanding and renovating part of the resort, but there was no problem from the construction. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful with tours, safe boxes, etc, The free email was a nice touch. We would definitely consider returning to this resort if we are back to Samui - but we will probably choose a more secluded island next visit.

Great beach location. The room are large but decor is very outdated and needs upgrade. No safe in room.I personally think it is very over priced for 2300 B. Saw a property (Marina Bunglows) right next door, brand new with ocean view for 1000 B.

We stayed at Galaxy Resort for 11 days returning to UK 26/9. All the staff at Galaxy are very pleasant and helpful, they made our stay a pleasure. The rooms are clean and tidy and whatever you need they will try and help. We will be telling all our friends about Galaxy and would love to stay there again. Lamai is much quieter than Chewang, Galaxy is just far enough away from all the noise but very easy walking distance to all the best bars/resturants. If you want car hire or trips Galaxy can organise for you at same or less cost than you can for yourself. If you want a suit made ask at reception as they can guide you to most reliable tailor in town. The restaurant serves very good food and the staff especially Bar are very friendly. You will be sure to enjoy a stay at Galaxy Resort! Room 01 is best for beach/pool views. From Donna, Ged and Christopher Gilmartin UK

We stayed in a Thai-style bungalow for a week. Nice pool and hospitality. However I feel we should have stayed in the beach/pool-front cottage which they provided it in the same rate because it was easy to access to the pool and the beach rather than thai-style bungalow. Also in the Thai-style bungalow, I felt very dark because of the coller of the wall and the lack of the windows.
