Laem
Set Inn, Laem Set Beach
This place is a wonderfully peaceful part of Koh Samui and we felt
like living in paradise. This little resort is very good for families,
but if you want to see more of the island you must be prepared to
use some money for taxi. The hotel is always willing to help you get
around. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms, restaurant
and pool is always clean. Good food in the restaurant, but it´s a
bit on the expensive side. We long to go back! |

Laem Set, Laem Set Beach
Laem Set is an absolute gem, by far the best place I ve stayed in
Thailand. The resort is very quiet and ideal as a place to get away
from it all, there s no hawkers walking up and down the beach and
during my stay my partner and I had a beach to ourselves. The restaurant
is very good, quite pricey but not ridiculous and the service was
excellent. I ll definitely go back. |

Laem Set, Laem Set Beach
Taking a packed minibus from the airport down the coast I soon found
that I was the last one left with the driver telling me I had booked
very far away. Feeling slightly anxious as the bus winded its way
off the main road I eventually arrived at the Laem Set Inn. Warmly
welcomed and escorted to my bungalow I enjoyed a first night cold
beer and meal in the Inn restaurant looking out over the pool and
coconut trees to the sound of surf and cicadas. Laem Set is a quietly
serene and tranquil setting by the sea - a bit like a nature reserve
meets tropical botanical garden. It is ideal for couples with small
children having a children s play area, shallow sandy beach and low
end swimming pool. I stayed in a bamboo bungalow with double bed &
verandah, fridge, coffee & tea making facilities and hot shower and
phone for approximately 1,000 baht a night. I had booked until 15th
January but enjoyed it so much I stayed until 19th January. There
are a number of accomodation options from basic bungalows up to deluxe
suites with own swimming pool . The staff were always friendly and
efficient and the Manager / Manageress (Ralf & Mona ) were always
on call to provide good information and advice. Food is very good
here also. An added bonus was the free internet service provided in
two booths beside the restaurant. They also provide kayaks / canoes, oars
and life vests free of charge. Being 15 minutes car or motorbike ride
from Lamai I hired a automatic scooter in Lamai for 200 baht a day
which was marvellous for getting around. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay
at Laem Set and would highly recommend it for couples over 35 and
particularly couples /partners with young children. However younger
persons would find it too quiet, subdued and too far away from the
action in Lamai. |

Laem Set, Laem Set Beach
Very nice and quiet private run resort. Bungalows/suites in high quality
traditional thai style. Very friendly service - took even care of
cinfirming flight without us asking. Good place for kids with seperate
playground. Nice and very clean pool.Easy snorkeling for kids at low
tides. Nice decorated area. Food and drinks on the expensive side
for Thailand but OK for this place. |

Laem Set, Laem Set Beach
Laem Set turned out to be exactly what we wanted. We were concerned
that we had paid a little too much for a beach bungalow but we wanted
to be away from the party crowd and this was perfect. The room was
spotless but they still managed to make it a very authentic beach
bungalow. The staff was almost too polite and the quality of the meals
was an added plus. This would be a great family location. |

Laem Set, Laem Set Beach
This resort is a great secluded part of Ko Samui. The staff is fantastic
and the setting is beyond words. You have your own beach with wicker
swings and great snorkling off your porch. The food is some of the
best I had in Thailand. You have to try the Mecrab as a starter. This
resort is the entire package. Highly recommended to start or end your
adventures in Thailand. Get seaside bungalow #3. Well worth the drive. |
