Nova
Samui Resort, Chaweng Lake
The location was great, and breakfast buffet one of the best that
we had in Thailand. Staff were very friendly and helpful all the time
- we even saw guests hugging them goodbye. The rooms are very spacious
compared to others in Thailand and the hotel is in great condition.
We would highly recommend. |

Nova Samui Resort, Chaweng Lake
The Nova Samui Resort is a nice hotel with all the needed facilities.
The cleaning women do an excellent service at this hotel. As for reception
their English is too poor and their treatment is not always professional:
f.ex. my boyfriend called me several times, he speaks good English,
but they didnt understand him, so they didnt put the phone to my room.
Sometimes they were in bad moods too and they let the guest feel that.
They offer room service, but when there is Valentines day or Chinese
New Year, they just tell you on the phone that you can order nothing
(my 7year old son and me were lying in bed with strong brochitis and
they knew that.) |

Positives : excellent pool area and bar, friendly staff and guests,
secure Negatives : lots of stairs up to rooms, about 1 km from main
clubs in chaweng beach - but there is a free shuttle there every 30
min Overall: would return to this resort |

Nova Samui Resort, Chaweng Lake
Horrible place, what a disaster! The outside of the hotel looks like
the pictures, but don t be fooled by this! Firstly, its next to the
Cheweng Lake which was a mistake we made as the lake is horrible and
stagnant so a lot of mosquitoes around. Staff very unfriendly and
no customer service at all. They gave us a room at first which faced
the road and had a horrible view. They then changed our room after
we complained to one facing the pool, which was the only other view
they had and much better than the road view so we took it. The room
smelled stale and mouldy, we even bought an air freshner! I don t
think they replaced their matresses since the time they opended, they
were so soft and very bad for the back. My husband got very bad back
aches due to this. The worst of all was that they were doing construction
work in the room directly above us! We could see this from the pool
and were quite upset that out of all the rooms in this hotel that
they gave us this one with the above room being renovated on every
morning. We couldn t be bother to complain as the staff were not approachable
and just went through the 4 days trying to be out of the hotel most
of the time. Breakfast was awful and half the time the burners were
not even on to keep the food hot. The location is on a very busy inside
road and it was a little bit dangerous to cross sometimes. The beach
was about 10 mins away and the hotel drops you there whenever you
need. But we just decided to rent a bike for our stay instead. We
did extend our stay but not in this hotel, we moved to the beach area.
I don t recommend this hotel at all. |

Nova Samui Resort, Chaweng Lake
After volunteering for a month at an animal sanctuary with little
to no amenities - Nova Samui was a godsend. The staff were friendly
and accomodating. I greatly enjoyed laying by the pool for the afternoon
doing nothing - but having a wonderful massage and a hand delivered,
ice cold fruit smoothie! They also offered complementary rides to
the beach every half hour. The room was clean and comfortable with
character. I would have stayed longer if I hadn t had a reservation
elsewhere. The only drawback was the 150 Baht charge for a ride to
the airport. 100 baht should have been enough. |

Clean, friendly, a little off the beaten track but very affordable.
Could use extra chairs at the pool or the beach as they were full
every day. |

hot water.hotel is quite new and well mantained.food basic but acceptable.bar
closes early and not much entertainment put on by the hotel, but nightlife
