Saboey
Resort and Villas, Big Buddha Beach
We stayed in a beach front villa for 8 days and had a brilliant time.
The food and wine selection available at the pool bar was superberb.
We loved the quiet of Big Buddah Beach which was still convenient
enough to pop across to Bophut and down to Lamai. Tim and Nicki were
fabulous hosts - can t fault anything! |

We loved this small resort!! We stayed in beach villa 2. It was amazing.
Great value for money. The staff were very freindly and helpful, and
the food was fab. We visted out of season, so we had the resort to
ourselves. The only noise was the airplanes over head, as the resort
is close to the airport. It didnt bother us in the slightest. Very
tranquil, we had a great 7 nights there. Only 15 min taxi to the busy
Chaweng area. So a great location for us. |

After losing our luggage on a flight with emirates, my girlfrind and
I had no clothes for 6 days, we where very upset as you can imagine,
I told the English manager of the hotel, As we where booked in for
New Years Eve dinner, I informed the manager that we could not attend
as we had no clothes , He said he would look in to it for us.....on
the day we checked out the manager charged us Ģ120 for a dinner we
couldnt attend???? I was disgusted at the hotels greed and lack of
empathy, I would not recmomend this place to anyone, the food was
terrible and cold, Also when we where arguing about the bill another
couple where charged for NYE and they where very upset, the hotel
really let itself down for being unreasonable and greedy, dont stay
there!!! |

very nice hotel, very nice staff.Very nice food. Quiet and nice beach,
althought the water wasnīt clear,It didnīt bother us at all. Big Buddha
beach is not far from the airport, you can hear and see the planes
coming and going, nothing that disturbes the peace though. We absolutely
recomend this hotel! hopefully we will return to Saboey. |

Like many resorts on Samui, Saboey is a mixed bag. The bungalows and
grounds are lovely, as is the beach which offers a nice, relatively
unpopulated alternative to the crowds and tawdry commercialism of
Chaweng. There are some substantial cons, however. The periodic rumble
of jets from the airport is a sad disruption to the otherwise peaceful
tenor of the place, and the on-site restaurant leaves a bit to be
desired: OK food but small, overpriced servings. The immediate area
isn t exactly rich with great dining alternatives, but there are enough
other decent restaurants within walking distance of Saboey for this
not to be an insurmountable problem (and Chaweng is a short taxi ride
away if that s your scene). The resort also seems to be very popular
with families--at least, it was during our stay--so there were lots
of small children in the pool. This wasn t a problem for us (esp,
as we tended to swim in the sea rather than the pool), but it may
be for some. In sum, we enjoyed our time at Saboey and would recommend
it with just one or two reservations. |

Convenient location v.near airport. Lovely resort. Rooms V. expensive
near Christmas. Would prefer toilet not visible from bathroom/wardrobe
space. Think bath robes and slippers should be included at such a
price. Staff very friendly and kind. Sea a bit cloudy but pool magnificent.
Nothing much outside resort within walking distance but taxis cheap
and available to pick up on road. bed was very hard but staff kindlt
provided underblankets quickly. All in all, a very nice few days. |

It s been impressed myself for such a nice staying at the Saboey Resort.
Staff are all friendly; Food at the bar is nice; and overall surrounding
created as a relax escape from busy town life. I enjoy my stay very
much. However, it s a bit far away from Shopping area and the taxi
free is quite expensive. I definitely will come back for my next trip
to Koh Samui |

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway
or for someone looking a small sized resort where it is quiet and
away from a lot of tourists. The resort was actually much prettier
in real life than the photos that I saw on the internet and the infinity
pool was absolutely gorgeous. The layout of the resort was beautiful
with a nice homely bar. The staff were very friendly and were helpful
in everyway. As for us, the free transfer to and from the airport
were right on time. The only bad thing that I could say about this
is the airplane noise as it is quite close to the airport but even
that wasnt so bad. A paradise in my opinion. |
