We enjoyed our stay at the Wiesenthal Resort very much. Staff and
management were very helpful with a pleasant relaxed manner. Our Deluxe
Seaview Bungalow directly at the beach was brillant and excellent
to view the beautiful sunset at the west coast of Koh Samui. January
until March seems to be the best time to visit (not too hot and tides
high enough to swim), but we are sure would enjoy it here at any time.
As it s more remote than the resorts at the main beaches, it s worthwile
to hire a car or motorcycle/moped so you are more flexible to discover
the rest of the island. However to get a taxi or lift never seems
a problem. |

My family stayed at Wiesenthal for a week in 1/06. The family rooms
were adaquate but a bit run down. Both toilets broke but the staff
fixed them quickly. The restaurant was good and some of the staff
were friendly. Transportation is an issue because of the resort location.
The service provided by one of the staff for a tour of the island
was good but too expensive. We spent 1200B for an hour elephant ride.
In Koh Sok NP it was 800B for 2-3 hrs. Information concerning traveling
away from Samui was not honest. Shop around for information regarding
minibuses. If you are healthy and rugged I highly recommend Koh Sok
NP and the Jungle Experience provided by Toy, cell: 06-268-7399. My
family had a 62 year old mother and two kids 11 and 12. It was the
highlight of the trip. The best way to get there is on the public
AC bus out of Surat Thani. Don t take the minibus there. |

We had a very nice time at Weisenthal Resort. If you want a quiet,
beautiful beach with gorgeous sunsets, this resort is the place. Wisenthal
is a budget resort, some bungalows are older, some newer. Our bungalow
was right on the beach and it was clean and roomy. Our children stayed
in the family bungalow and it was not as nice. It was older and needed
some sprucing up. The beach was beautiful and quiet. It had a bit
of trash on it, but I think you find that everywhere on Samui. The
water is great, especially if you have children. The waves are small
and it does not get deep quickly. There are some rocks at low tide
but I did not think that was a problem and snorkling can be good at
that time. The restaurant was great and the staff were wonderful and
friendly. The cook even remembered how we like our Tom Yom Goong-not
toooo hot! We would stay at Wiesenthal again if we return to Koi Samui. |

Excellent small resort with kind staff and always helpful. Service
excellent. Kitchen very good (I recommend Yam Wun Sen - spicey Glasnoodlesalat
and Tom Yang Goong). Room clean. Resort shows small signs of deterioration.
I dearly hope that s going to be fixed. I would deeply regret if Wiesenthal
is going down. Everybody who wants to ditch Chaweng should stay in
Ban Talin Ngam and especially here in Wiesenthal. We extended our
stay one more week! Need more proof? I don t think so.... |

This is a hidden jewel - a wonderful relaxing place for a holiday
in a part of Samui which seems a world away from the over-commercialised
East coast. The beach is excellent for swimming around low tide and
is usually almost deserted, the bungalows are well appointed and meticulously
cared-for. The beachfront restaurant serves superb food and is staffed
by extremely friendly ladies. We stayed there this year for the second
time, after a two-year break, and could see considerable improvements
to the site, without increasing the density of the accommodation.

Excellent Resort with the friendliest staff I ever experienced. Very
helpful. The location is fantastic, directly on the beach, palm trees
for shade and no one coming up to you and tries to sell you something.(like
Chaweng Bech) Because of Corals in the water you can t go swimming
at all times. Good if you are after a chill out holiday, otherwise
a little isolated from the buzz. Rooms are basic but clean and have
everything you need. Restaurant is very good and reasonable. We enjoyed
our stay very much |

On arriving at the Weisenthal Beach Resort we were greeted by their
very friendly staff who immediately offered to carry our bags. Although
the beach huts were basic as you would expect they were very clean,
had air conditioning that worked like a charm and a wet room to shower
in. I would highly recommend the Weisenthal to anyone who is on a
budget but would still like to get away from it all and eat fantastic
food. However if you like being close to the action but still on the
beach I would recommend the North East of the island, Cheong Mon.
Here we stayed at the Island View bungalows which overlook a beautiful
beach and where you can get amazing food very cheaply. What s so great
about this area is that you re only 5 mins from the airport and 10
mins from Chaweng....ideal! |
